Default "90 cluster in a "89 Si

I've repinned most of the wires except for the blue plug. (vss amp, I think)
I've run into a little trouble with repinning the blue one. In my '89 I have three wires going to the plug. On the '90 there are five. What should I do? Does anyone have wiring diagrams or any knowlege with this cluster swap?

Any help appreciated, thanks guys

I tried an 88 cluster in my 91,and had to change the brackets over. Then, you have wiring issues, plus neither the 88 cluster hood or 91 cluster hood looked right. Why not just sell the 90 cluster and get an 89 cluster off Ebay?Or the JDM cluster is nice if you dont mind a little wiring. The UK clusters *supposed* to be plug and play from what I've heard, although they are a bit rare.

I've already got the '90 cluster and hood from my old rex and to be honest I just prefer the way the newer cluster looks. Its going in an '89 Si which already has a cluster, I was jusat bored and looking for a little project

Does anyone know what to do with the vss amp, or what the hell the vss amp does?
Anybody have wiring diagrams that could tell me the color and function of the wires in the '89 and the '90 cluster?

All help appreciated.

The VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) converts your speed into an electrical signal for the speedometer and doesn't have the normal mechanical cable. You'll need one if you get the JDM SiR cluster.Theres a wiring schematic somewhere on the net,I ran across it a while back.It was talking about rewiring the SiR cluster to work.Just do a search for Sir or JDM cluster...If I find the link,I'll post it.
