Rear Disc pissing me off. grrrrr
so let's say you start off in the morning to goto work and you pull out of the driveway and your car feels like you left the parking brake up, but it is completey released and that when you start to slow down at a light or stop sign you barely have to press the brakes because the rear brakes are already "grabbing"......wtf....i know the emergency brake is not up because the cables are not even connected
.....anybody ever had this problem......personal expierences, opinions, comments are welcomed..........

edit oops didnt read the linked title. Are the calipers old and in need of a rebuild? Have u checked the the part where the ebrake cable attaches to in the rear? perhaps a spring is binding.

well that's one thing i was thinking, but how do tell if the calipers need rebuilt or even replaced? what goes bad with them? a seal, etc...... well the parking brake cables are not attached to the caliper at all.....
one more thing....can the prop valve have anything to do with this?

A common problem is the pins the caliper slides on get full of crud and sieze up. Mine were rusted solid, inside pad worn out, outside pad nearly new. It could also be the caliper not adjusting properly with the e-brake not connected. Check the boots on the piston, if torn, it will not retract properly when off the brakes. Some pads fit too tightly in the carrier and need to have the backing plate ground slightly on the edges to slide properly in the carrier. Could also be a bad hose restricting fluid flow. The can separate internally and let pressure in but not out. Feel for soft spots and look for bulges or damaged cover.
