1998 ITR #477 CW - gone... :( (posting for a friend)
Well, this is the second time for my friend in 3 years. First, his ITR was stolen from CSU Fulllteron parking lot. Luck had it, that one of our friends who lived in the Diamond Bar neighborhood spotted the car parked on the street (left it there to see if LoJack or some theft recovery alarm was going to kick in, no doubt) and called up the owner before it could be gone for good.
Luck finally ran out for him, today, July 16, Wednesday. Some time between 3AM-10AM, his CW 1998 ITR was stolen out of his apartment complex in Los Angeles (LaFayette park area). He called me up crying, asking for help, so here I am.
Why they would steal his car is anyone's guess. It needs new vavle seals, the check engine light is on, and he just recently misshifted, so the car was running like crap. There are numerous dents all over it, and he is missing one wheel stud (lugnut goes onto this) off the front passenger side. It's also bone stock.
It's theives who do this sort of thing that just make the scene unbearably difficult for us hardworking folks. Is it a crime to enjoy our cars?
**** all you, theives. And if you're trying to sell his parts on this board, I'm coming for you with my Sig Sauer...

i'll let you guys know what happens when/if they find it. my friend is just in tears right now. he JUST finished paying off that car last month, and this is just a really shitty blow for him. he was thinking about all the money he's going to have after he finished paying off his car... poor guy.

that sucks
hopefully it will be found, but in the event it doesnt, at least he'll get the insurance coverage for a perfect running ITR and not one that ran like ****.

That sucks and I've been down this road myself. However, the good news is that these scumbags just stole themselves a motor w/ bad seals and what are likely bent exhaust valves.
theives suck, but i'd tell your friend to look on the bright side, he's going to get insurance money for the car, right? lets hope he has insurance. then he can get another one with good valves and valve seals. It's just a car man, don't go killing anybody and getting your *** thrown in jail.
