Default Installed my magnaflow oval + T1R b-pipe= quiet exhaust system

Since t1r didn’t make a full cat back for us eg owners, I decided just to get the b-pipe and a universal magnaflow oval muffler. I also managed to remove the bottleneck at the rear section of the t1r b-pipe w/o cutting/welding it. reviews: Im loving the setup because its really quiet (I consider spoon muffler to be really loud as a comparison). No raspy bumblebee sound at all up to vtec… mind you, I also have a spoon header and a carsound high flow cat (2.5”). here are some pics…im planning to paint the muffler black, should I?

I, personally, don't like mufflers painted black, but if you want to be more low-key go for it, but I like it how it is.

Don't even worry about painting it black. I have one too and its extremely quiet as well, trust me everyone already thinks its stock. I've heard- "Is that a stock muffler it sounds good", "Is that stock with a test pipe, its quiet", "Wow that exhaust looks stock", etc.... you get the idea. Its stock and stealth looking enough as it is

i painted mine black on my eg b/c i hate how the eg rear bumper doesnt hide the body of the muffler at all... and i didnt want the whole thing standing out as much. and people think mine is stock until they realize it has a 3" opening..o-well. looks cleaner black IMO.

testpipe = hollow pipe that replaces the cat. Black mufflers are cool :]

Gud Shiet! what i would do is have the muffler shop weld shorter hangers on it and have it hung higher (Ultimate Sleeper look), where it looks like there is no muffler. Then have them weld a small downpipe to the exhaust exit pipe.

Looks good. I would go with the flat black, it should look really good with your car and it is total sleeper.

the sleeper look!

I've thought about going back to something like you have and going "QUIET". My car is so damn loud, but I do like the way my exhaust sounds.

How much was the muffler and do you have any pics of it before installation? What are the inlet piping dimensions?

PS <> I would leave it as is. Looks stock as others have said

couple Q's. I have the same muffler sitting beside me on the floor here. I can't tell, do you have a tip on there or is that the original outlet.

Also, you mentioned how quiet it is, does your b pipe have a resonator on it?

I have the same muffler, am a fan. One thing, make sure to sand it nicely before you paint it. If you dont it'll flake off the mirror polish if you got the SS one. Ask me how I know....

http://randdmotorsports.com/ http://ipsracing.com/ these guys have it.. price is around 300 bucks

muffler is 99 bucks shipped. t1r b pipe is about 63mm (not sure if thats the ID or OD)
here's the pic of the b-pipe w/ the bottleneck:

here's the pic after i got rid of the bottleneck (w/o cutting off the original flange)

im not sure if this setup is actually quieter that the apex world sport catback. i've only compared it to a spoon axle back and the spoon is twice as loud.
-the muffler has no tip...that tip you see is only 2.5".
-b pipe has resonator. i believe it would be a lot louder w/o the resonator on the b pipe
