you should be running 5.5 psi on a stock ITR JRSC..
no idea what the 8psi pully dimensions are, but you need that and I would assume a smaller belt..

4.2 refers to the diameter of the blower pulley (4.2 inches) which gives 5.5 PSI on the Type R (The GSR blower at 4" dia gives a little over 6psi)
My recommendation for getting to 8 psi is to use a stepper pulley from MVM (Motorvations Motorsports) Do NOT try to remove the stock blower pulley. It will totally invalidate the warranty on the blower.
The stepper also helps prevent belt slipage. You actually want the blower pulley to be as large as possible.
Also, 8 PSI on the B18C5 is asking for broken parts unless you tune it REALLY REALLY well. Hondata and cam gears to dial out some of the cam overlap are a must.

My question has always been do you have to do anything to have the blower be reliable under the stock boost. Can you just throw on the blower and drive daily and not have any big problems.
if I but a CRV crank pulley, what PSI will I be running?
I know on a LS JRSC its 10psi but is it the same on a type R??
thanks

has some great info...
highlights: yes you can, but it may actually perform *worse* than stock

Thats a very good ? that I would like to know. I'm thinking about getting a JRSC foe my R. I can later always add Hondata or some kinda stand-alone for better tuning. I had a chat with a guy tonight about his JRSC on a J-spec GSR with Hondata @ 12 psi. As much of a monster as it is he says his next motor will have a Vortec w/ an aftercooler. Now I'm really confused!!! which 1 do I go with??!!! DECISIONS-DECSIONS!!!!!!

You don't need cam gears, but you do need tuning.
Done properly you can put the 3.8 inch blower pulley on and the blower will be fine. I have done this, and I also have the JR crank pulley. I would highly recommend Jim's MVM pulley as well.
I run 11 psi on my car daily driven with stock internals. You won't be sorry. Might I suggest getting the Moss Motors/Hondata big boost kit. It comes with everything you will need.

what exactley does that include?
I think i Will buy a CRV unorthodox crank pulley off ebay to raise the boost to 9-10psi....
so im just missing hondata and injectors? or do I need any other things to help tune it?

You'll probably want an adjustable fuel regulator too.
With a standalone and fuel upgrades you should be able to hit 210-220 whp on 5.5psi.

If you follow the JR installation directions carefully and accurately and retard the timing like they specify you won't have any problems. You won't be tapping the real potential of the blower though.

Well in order to run hondata you will need to switch to obd1, so you will need an obd1 ecu(p28, p30, p72 etc..) matted with either obd2 to obd1 harness or the connector that allows you to use obd1 ecu with obd2 plugs. You can get them directly from hondata
Hit me up on MTL racing(D&D TUNING) when your done..i WANT A RIDE
