Default H22 H23 VTECH QUESTION

OK I have a 94 H22 complete motor and a 93 H23 complete bottom end. I am going to do a frankenstein using stock parts in both blocks to build a strong, daily driver T3 turbo motor (8lbs.)(at least as strong as I can get). So using the stock parts which pistons, rods, crank etc. should I use to get lowest compression, strongest and make the most power.

seems like a lot of work...i'd just be happy with the h22, but hey whatever floats your boat. And can someone tell me if his year h22 has an open or closed deck??if it's closed then you'll have a strong engine anyway( with some forged internals you'll be a lil safer but it doesn't seem like you want that)...its not worth all the trouble for 100cc's more.

basically with wanting to go with boost
you would want to do this:

Use H23a block- Keep stock pistons but I would pull them and hone the block replace the bearing and put in new piston rings to get a good seal.

Also, for the Timing belt use the H23 manual tensioner- you can search for info on this- basically it keeps the T belt where it should be!

Also, with a stock Head gasket with the H22
head (satan srv) calculated that you should have 9.3 to 1 compression. to get it a littly lower I would use a thicker head gasket. I would ask the people in FI thread about this.

Then for the head itself keep the stock cams
you COULD if wanted p&p the IM and throttle body for some more air and fuel for the boost

AND you should/probaly know this- Engine Managment is crutial with the H series and boost!!! Get bigger injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump and then the FMU to keep fuel demands met at boost. And then you would want of course at least a VFAC if not a Hondata
system to keep it running reliably.

But this will save you about $2000 in bottom end work and forged parts- but it is not as bullet proof. ALSO- your going to HAVE to keep the RPM's down to what the si redline is 6500
because with the boost you'll be runnin HOT

goodluck

using H23 pistons, rods and crank will give you the lowest CR with stock internals. Since the H23 is 9.8:1 when you slap a VTEC head on it the increased combustion chamber size drops CR to 9.3:1 ish..

I am guessing you are well aware that boosting over 7-9 psi on a stock H series is risky..I suppose 8 is okay, but you have been warned, prelude ringlands are weak!

When i pulled mine for a rebuild, the ringlands in two of the pistons were broken. More than 8lbs and your pistons will be toast.

Well I have a question. If I put an H22 intake manifold on my H23 will that give me VTAC?? If it does, I am going to put a "Powered by VTEK" sticker on my car.

Oh, and I have already searched for this but I came up with no results.

Yes, I do have the bigger dick. I am the better person. I know more than you. I'm smarter, I have a faster car, and I could probably kill you barehanded.

It's for the best that you have given up.

Gang member. LOL. I don't need gangs. I can hold my own mother ******.

Dude, the best advise I can give you is search before you post. If you find a post pertaining to something you have a question about post in THAT thread. Someone will respond.

This is a great place for answers to your questions. This is the only place I have found that has members concerned about the performance of their cars, not how it looks. You will definately find someone who has already done what you are THINKING about doing. Just search first. That way it keeps all the information about that issue in the appropriate threads.

Just let it go and participate on this site in a positive manner.

Lone Luder:

Did you ever finish your car after the Gumball?
I'd like to see what number it would have made in comparison with the porsches and ferrari's. I watched the mischief 3000 and seen the F50 do 184--pretty tight!!!

Boosted97Lude- I seen your pics very nice!

The F50 wasn't ****. Nice car, great guy who owned it.... but...

The CC85 hit a documented 243 mph on I-10 in Texas.

That also happened to be the day he was pulled over numerous times, given 8 seperate tickets, and arrested 3 times.

But he hit 243...
