obd0 b16 idles at 1100rpms and ignition timeing set to 22deg. bogs at factory 15 in vtec please hel
even if someone can just help me figure out why my car runs sweet at 22deg ignition timeing, instead of the factory 15 i've tried everywhere from 14-20 and anything less than 22 and it feels like it's bogging when it hits vtec. btw it's a obd0 b16 w/ pr3 skunk2 itr mani, aem fuel rail, bbk 62mmtb w/ obd1 map, aem fuel rail, skunk2 camgears.... fuel pressure is at 40psi at idle and 45 when throttle is pressed. also idle adjustment screw on tb is unscrewed all the way and engine will not idle below 1100rpms, even when slacking throttle cable.
the car still runs great, just kinda worried something could be up

btw i jumped the blue connector under the pass side dash, and waited for fan to kick on before checking w/ light.... also when i put the motor together i'm almost positive that i lined everything up perfect, and i used dowels to line the cams up by putting them through the 3rd cam cap through the cam to line them up. i've been running the car at 22-24 for 8-9 months now and it hasn't complained yet, just wondering what the problem is and how can i fix it.
I don't know crap about VTEC's, but you might have to get everything back to stock settings (stock cam gear) as for the timing, then put the AEM back on and set it at 0, then go from there. Once you have timing up that high for so long, the engine starts going to crap. That happened to my Isuzu Pickup, that worked its way to 6 degrees advanced with everything stock. That thing back fires like nothing else. I finaly got it back, and put it on about 2Adv. It still back fires.... You might also want to go back to the stock fuel map when doing all of this. But if the engine runs fine at 14-20, but lags when VTEC kicks in, you may need a new selanoid. I don't know man. VTEC's aren't my deal, never even touched one.
thanks for all the help guys but i figured it out, since my idle won't go below 1000rpms (typical jdm b16 supposidly). the ecu was still advancing timeing.... so therefore.... we unpluged the iac valve and rechecked..... findings 16deg lol... thanks for all the help..... and now if anyone has the same prob there's a answer.

nah we just unplugged it but replaceing it might fix the prob not sure though... by unplugging it, we dropped the rpms down to the right point.... there fore we got a better reading than at 1100 rpms
