my friend has the crower stage 2 Turbo Cam, valvesprings & retainers in his d16y8... He isn't turbo yet, but got the head done beforehand... Even N/A there is a BIG improvement in the butt dyno... Car lags down low (Under 3k) but once it hits 3k it MOVES... butt dyno says AT LEAST 5whp...

Yeah... i would say AT LEAST 5whp WITHOUT the turbo... Who knows if he'll ever actually get the turbo on there... lol... I dunno... He wants to do it this summer... But it is a BIG improvement...

I am curious to know if anyone esle is running the Crower turbo cam or and turbo cam in the turbo'ed D-motor.
I am looking at the EF1 cam (S22) by Rocket or the Crower turbo cam.

im running zex 59300 cam w/ springs.....i put down 205 whp on 6psi, with z6/a6 setup, dunno if the cam helped cause never had stock cam with boost but the zex cam has less duration and more lift than than the crower turbo cam, did research before actually buying a cam....i didnt like it n/a but i like it with turbo...seems to love the extra lift....but you didnt specify if you have a vtec sohc so dunno if my info would help, but if you do i have vtec set at 3100 on my afc to come on so its on the high cam right when the turbo spools so there is no confusion between boost and vtec switch-over.....seems to work awesome, peace

JFK78 had the Zex cam (59300) in his greddy turbo D16 setup.
Scroll down to his 2nd post in the thread and read his comments.

All i kno is i liked the specs of the zex cam over the crower cam, it works very well on my car....its not overly priced and its good quality.....you do lose some bottem end torque but who cares when yur boosting? I only make 160 ft. lbs of torque and its plenty to get me moving....cant complain with 205 fwhp on 6psi and running 14.3@103.95 with 185-60-14 tires at 6psi.....something is working right, i cant see going wrong with a cam with more lift and less duration....a lot of cams coming out for d-series, just compare specs and prices and you wont go wrong....peace
