Default GM Syncromesh users, a few questions!

I put this syncromesh stuff in my DA9 about 2-3 weeks ago and Im not really noticing THAT much of a difference.....

Of coarse I had the o-so-common 3rd gear grind.....

I can shift at about 4500rms and not have the car grind(meaning the RPMS fall to like 3500 by time I get Into gear)

Anyone else notice a big difference when using this crap... or should I have saved my $$ and went with 90w redline? I mean I do notice some difference.... but it didnt totaly cure my 3rd gear scratch like everyone says it does(I know its my syncro so )

Should I just make the move to Redline in a couple thousand miles(I got say 1k with that fluid in there).... or does it take somemore time for this stuff work(I know it wont totaly cure my 3rd gear scratch)?????

My 3rd gear started grinding after a track day on my 92 LS with 200k miles on the tranny. It would grind at any RPM but synchromesh cured that. I only grinded 3rd gear a few times at redline after putting synchromesh in.

Its a great fluid, but its not going to fix major problems with your transmission. Its not going to repair your syncros.

i was just thinking about this... Do LS trannies' 3rd gears grind more than, oh lets say a close gear ratio b16? i have some theories behind this...

well... after 2000 miles the fluid is starting to show signs of it working even better then when I posted this...

I can now shift at 5500rpms and not have this beotch grind... I didnt notice it till today really....

So this stuff gets a outa 5.... only because i cant shift at redline with it and have it cure my synco problem

I just think its due to a weak 3rd gear syncro.... LS's werent ment to take a beating like a GSR or b16 tranny is...

Just curious, which fluid did you use? The regular Synchromesh (#12345349) or the Synchromesh Friction Modifier (#12377916)? Just bought some of the second kind and will be putting it in this weekend. I have been using Redline MTL with good results, but wanna see what all the fuss is about.

they just handed me the Syncomesh... they didnt ask about the friction modifier..... hrm... Im wondering if I just got the normal stuff. either way it worked damn well if it wasnt the Friction stuff.. I left the bottles at a friends garage and their probably tossed....

Chances are I got the Friction stuff... or at least I hope I didnt waste my 45$... they didnt ask if I wanted the friction mod stuff. I thought the Synchromesh **** came WITH the mod.

The friction modifier stuff comes in retangular containers and the regular stuff comes in round containers.

*edit*
I'm not sure about the two gm bottle differences but friction modifier is a good thing imo for lsd. Redline sells it too.

are these gm syncromesh the same thickness as the honda mtf? or is it thicker? I have problems with shifting, mostly 5th, and was told that my clutch is causing that problem?

90w redline???????? WTF?
you are nut the factory reccommends 5w30 mtf. any higher and you will grind your synchros to death. ask any honda/acura certified tech and they will tell you the same. i have used everything from redline to generic oil and so far honda mtf works the best.

It synchromesh cured my 3rd gear grind. For being only 5 bucks a quart.. well worth the money, I haven't bitched about my tranny ever since i put that stuff in.

I had a slight grind only at redline in my car. Used Honda MTL and it almost completely disappeared. Its time to change my fluid and I'm going with synchromesh this time to try it out.
