yes, that is what most people call a poormans type R setup.

i can't believe no one answered the question yet. cheeewww
ok.
Poor man itr is
GSR block and B16 head mated together.
You can put any high comp. pistions you like.
This is a very nice setup, which i plan to do in the long run with my car.

Minus internals, B16/B17 heads are identical to ITRs, although some say the ITR head is hogged out a little more, but I'm not sure if that's fact. The B16 heads are generally more available and cheaper. Besides, wouldn't a GSR block and a GSR head just make a GSR motor?

ls/vtec poorly built
is cheap but it will not last that long
but
it will take a great ammount of money to built a good one..
its almost like buying a type R
but the
b18c1 block from 600-800 $$$
b16a head from 300-600
and you dont need to change any internals to the block..

B18C1 block, B16 pistons, B16a head = 11.1:1 CR
I don't know if its worth upgrading to a PR3 head if you already have a GSR head. Might as well just get a Skunk 2 manifold and bigger pistons. This will probably yield you the same numbers. The GSR head(P72) has a small combustion chamber that is .2 CR higher than a B16a(PR3) head. Its really preference, I went with a PR3 head because I already had it, I just added a bottom end to the mix. Works very well, and is the closest thing to a true honda motor as far as hybrid motors are concerned, IMHO.

even though it would cost more than the price difference between an LS and a GSR?
