Whats your EGT temp Read normally???
Yeah I did a search and came up with this
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=274901
But I am curious what other people EGTs read, mine seems to go to around 620c at WOT, thats on low boost 8psi well tuned sohc probably quite rich though... It also reads around 550c when cruizing 105kms with very little throttle the A/F gauge is reading stoich..
What I really want to know is when should I let off what temerature say if I was track racing or doing a free way run around 800c???
My probe is on the 3rd runner about 2 inch's from the head.

i am running 1650-1675F at WOT. my probe is right after the exhaust exit. 620c seem relatively cool. you shouldn't have any worries. EGT wise.

the probe is actually on my downpipe, i did not want to chance the probe breaking off while mounted on my manifold and shredding up my turbo. It is a greddy gauge so it reads in deg c. cruising off boost, i cant remember off the top of my head. Sometimes during long commutes it will reach 700ish on the highway after a few hours though.

sounds like my car. at WOT i'm at about 680-700 deg ... i thought at once it was too high, but my a/f numbers on the dyno are fine. That's the highest it gets too.

I have read that your EGT reading will be lower the further away from the head you get?? So probes in the downpipe should read lower then in the manifold?
I wonder if the fact that the whole of my probe is not in the actual manifold is making my temps cooler... Mechanic welded a cup on top of a hole he drilled in the manifold then screwed the probe into that I guess the exhaust gas would just flow up into the gap made anyway? About 1/2 the probe is in the actual manifold ....

Mine is at the bend just after the turbo. Cruising is around 800 - 1000ºF and WOT is up to 1200ºF.

Mine is in my #3 runner. i have an Autometer, and at wot it his 1600, maybe more. My tuner said it's ok as long as you don't sit it up there too long. I'm still hesitant though.

my autometer runs 1450 WOT and about 900 cruising 70MPH but I do believe that you turbo guys will be hotter than this

Re: Whats your EGT temp Read normally??? (turbo Si)
I live up in the mountains and when im cruzing around 70 im showing around a 1200-1300 My probe is right after the turbo...... WOT shows a little over 1400?
I too worry about this but if people are seeing higher numbers and still running then i feal ok now.....
This might sound real stupid but if i have ceramic coated valves and pistons would more heat escape through the exhaust since it isn't absorbed in the metal??????

More EGTS please.

My car is NA right now.. I got it up to 800 C today at WOT. Mines install on the 3rd runner about 2inches from the head.
I wonder how much higher its gonna go once I go turbo... 900C on my gauge it starts to redline.

900 C and your motor is looking for trouble. thats over 1800 F! deffinatly too hot for your motor. i saw a 3000gt blow up on the dyno last week when his egt went up that high

Re: Whats your EGT temp Read normally??? (siis2fast)
yea it would be safe to say KEEP out of REDLINE on the egt. I would let off before it gets to redline but it shouldn't do that
