JG/Eldlbrock T/B(65mm) for the ITR's.................
Recently, alot of local guys wanna me to start stocking the JG T/B for the ITR's intake manifold. I for one, really didn't care much about it at first. At the same time, I really havn't heard much about it here on H-T.com.
So I took the time to order a few sets.
To begin with, I really thought it was a cheap ripoff of the RPM's T/Bs. But when I open the box, the actual piece is really top notch. Meaning, the JG's T/B can actually pass as a OEM part.
I took some pics as well.

Back View
I beleive its a actual OEM TPS sensor too!
Not really a true 65mm, but then, I don't know for sure how accurate is my meter.

So is there any truth the these TB having problems with the blade sticking?
I doubted it but when you hear claims from more than one source you begin to wonder.

I know for a fact that the RPM's do stick, but other brands, I'm not sure about.
This one in particular, should have no problems, but again, not sure.......yet.

well about the sticking of the TB plate, it was an issue for the first batch and designe that they came out with.
I belive that they have solved that problem made it better.
I personally would get one if i could get a price comparission between that 65mm and the ITR 62mm. anyone know>?

Well, for the ITR, part# 16400-P73-A01/60mm, MRSP is 709.96, I usually sell it for $490.76.
The JG T/B, I retail it at $309.99 over the counter.
So again, you have a OEM piece or a nice aftermarket piece. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Yes it will bolt up, but you have to port it out to 65mm.

As of matter of fact, a total of 3 people that I know of. 2 of them are local and waited for me to get this from a JG distubutor. The other, a well known shop in St.Pete, had a problems with them as well. Supposly the RPMs sticks and wears out fast. The exact detail on how it sticks, is unsure, I guess it sticks when it feels like it or you can hear the engine reving high enough when pullin in my service drive
.
What I'm hearing that wears out is the trottle plate holder, I guees from time, the aliminuim surface wears out or some crap like that. Don't know, this is why when I first got my batch, I was really surprised to see the quaility of the product.
I know, I suk at spelling, sue me

On the site for this TB, they mention that the TB is made by Magnetti Marelli Powertrain USA Inc. and they say that this company is a "major manufacturer" of OEM TB.
Do you know who they supply TB's for? Is it GM, Ford, Honda, etc?

I ask a Jeep parts rep today, whom was visiting one of the parts department here, and told me its a Ford OEM company. But another guy here says its a GM....so, I really don't know.
But if you look at the pics, the actual T/B is really, really nice. I was more amazed since I've seen alot of T/B lately and never been really impressed other than OEM re-done, such as RC or Spoons.
Though, I also seen some OEM T/B re-done through King-motorsports too, really nice as well.

RPM Service throttle bodies are top notch. They are the manufacturer of Erick's Racing Throttle Bodies ... as far as sticking and wearing out, please show us proof. We have been selling RPM Service Throttle bodies for a while now and haven't had any complaints. We do know of another brand that copied RPM's TB design and looks very similiar that does stick.
As far as RPM service goes, we did pose the question of the TB sticking and was reassured that they will not stick, and if they do, to send it back to them and they will send us out another one.

I would show you proof if I'd own one. But I don't. I know for a fact one member on this board who did have problems (cause he's local) and a few locals who don't post here that had the same problem.
Hell, when one of them shows up in my driveway with his idle at some high rpms,
, I had ask him whats wrong with his car. He respond back with the throttle body is still sticking. After I suggest trying some of the Honda "Throttle Plate and Induction Cleaner", part #08732-9009. Something that we used one certain cars that have problems with throttle bodies stick with OEMs. (which is a rare occurance)
I've ask him about sending it back but was told he needed proof of purchase and was put on hold on the phone for a long time.
Again, this is from 3 sources. If I did own one (which I knew in the beginning I'll wait to see what happans), I would had post about it by now, again, this is what I hear and witness. Which I did witness on numerous occasion.
Even though its in a 9 sec all-motor car, doesn't mean squat if it will last for 30k or more for daily used.

Check your PM about the one member here. The reason he the only member I know that has it, cause everyone else waited to get some other T/Bs instead.

Yes, both of them come from the same manufactor.
Again, I'm not hear to start wars about t/bodies makes or such. Just posting from what I've seen and experiences from.
This web-board is to gather information from others.
