I'm begining to think all 1st gen swaps do this, mine did the same thing, not bad, just kinda seemed almost like a skip ONLY between 2-2500 and only at part throttle...wierd.

Mine does it too under partial throttle, if I push it down a little farther it clears up and takes off. I just replaced cap/rotor today and it didn't change it. It seems like it got a little better when I moved to a better flowing exhaust.

Mine did it till I swithced the 02's around, now it drives perfectly, with no hesitation whatsoever. Ryan

it couldve been switched o2's and no code cuz ecu would still see both o2's..just both would be giving it info that its not supposed to from the other...its not all b16's..i had one in my car and it didnt do it.the 1st one in my bro's car didnt..the 2nd did...and the 3rd didnt...its just sumthin with th vacuum lines i think or mybe sum kinked wires...

I think that the problem is with the MAP and/or TPS.
Not 100% sure, but that is what it sounds like.

you wont get an o2 sensor code if it reads that they are there and working. however you should try replacing them sounds to me just like the lag i got when i had an o2 code alwayed happened at those exact rpm kinda like its timed wrong and it bogs. also it always happened at night when it was really cold out.

It's got to be your 02 sensors mixed up. I had exactly the same symptoms on my swap. I tried disconnecting mine one at a time, and even ran my car for a while with neither one hooked up, the stupid ecu never threw a code. It doesn't seem to care much about them, but it runs crappy at cruising throttle with the 02 sensors mixed, also your gas mileage will dramatically improve when you get them fixed, mine went from about 20city/25hwy to 24city/32hwy, that with an S1 tranny going 75mpg on the highway. Whoever writes all this stuff about the b16 engine swaps really needs to mention that the 02 sensors may have to be switched, this is a common problem it seems.

i had the same problem on my b16. switched the 2 O2 wires at the ecu and the car ran great.

my buddy runs both of his o2 wires off of one signal and that worked for his.

it seems that each car, motor, and ecu are different but the problem is DEFINITELY o2 related. Just start switching around wires until it runs right.

run one O2 sensor and splice both plugs to it and plug them in, it works

I forgot to mention, I put a 90-91 teg t body a day or so after I switched my 02's. Thats when it really ran good. With the factory b16a t body (and tps) it ran ok, but had a hair of hesitation, and a un-steady idle. Ryan

I find it hard to believe that everyone's problem is switched o2 wires, I know mine are right because the secondary o2 sensor was one of the four wires I had to add in for the b16 swap. Just to make sure, the white plug o2 sensor is the primary and the green plug one is the secondary?

MINE was actually wrong with the O2's. why dont you guys having probems do this..
unplug BOTH o2 sensors and then see if it still has the hesitation. itll trip a code but at the same time itll stop reading from the 02's so the hesitation *should* dissapear.

im not running any o2 sensros becasue i got dam tired of the problem

okay, go with me on this guys. I had the same exact problem for several weeks and tried all of the above methods to fix it to no avail. New plug wires and the problem was solved as simple as that. I didn't believe that could be the problem either but it was. Try that and let us know how it works out for ya.

What does the car run like without O2 sensors? Does it just not correct for rich and lean conditions and just use the stock fuel vs rpm maps?

well, im revving to ~9800 rpm somy gas mileage sux. it was alright before i got my chip in. the car will not throw a CEL unless im coasting with it in gear alot. it drives like it SHOULD drive with both of them plugged in, when i unplugged both.
before i had 2 wires run to 1 and 1 heated O2 and it was mad hesitation.

BTW about the plug wires- EVERYONE in here is a performance entusiast, and shouldnt be using the wires that came with these 12 year old b16's youre getting.
