Default b16 cheap bang for the buck concept

i was thinking over the summer that i would by a rex or a hatchback. since i got scammed out of 3K by someone online that claimed to work for inline pro and i sent him money for a b16 swap and money for a rex then it never came and he dissapeared.

so i was planning on buying a jdm b16 and buying an ls block since there cheap, and some itr pistons, and an b18 series rods. that would be around 500 or 600 depending on where i get it from. im guessing since there is more displacement and im going to have itr pistons i should make around 190 crank hp. would that work. am i way too high on that guess?

how much hp would that make?

i believe this is cheaper then an ls/vtec because when u piece together parts for the full swap it comes to about 3K and buying a b16 swap is about 1400 + the parts for this= 1900 and u can sell your b16 block, pistons and rods.

if you wanna do all that might as well just by part by part instead of buyinh a complete swap and not even using it..also i think you would save more money buying part by part

im not even gonna bother with change overs just buying a B16A2 bare head and block from honda and a B18C5 transmission from acura.

i wanted a B18C1 block but its a tad more expensive then the B16.

I think it works out better this way, you know that its new and dont have to worry about how many miles are on it and if the previous owner beat it to hell and back.

lets see....
ls block, ls rods (machined to fit itr pistons) itr pistons, b16 head (.020" mill) itr intake cam, gsr exh cam, dc 4-2-1, cold air =170-175whp. add crower 63412 or skunk stage 2 and then you might see 190hp.

not exactly since id need a tranny and a vtec ecu which are more expensice outside of swaps. the way i posted seems to be the cheapest way. and after i buy the block and internals, then i can sell the b16 short block all together for a good ammount of money.

he meant machining of the con rods in case the opening is too small on the type r pistons. this is necessary on ctr pistons, not sure of itr.
