Default ... msd ignition... recommendations?...

... i was wondering what msd ignitions people out there are running... also, what does everyone recommend?... this will be for a street / daily driver that will also see some occational track time... lemme know... thanks in advance for your input...

... i have decided to go with the general concensus... msd 6a and ss blaster coil... so has the best prices on these?... from searching the archives, a lot of people recommended summit racing... but i would prefer to give $$$ back to h-t!!!

i've got the msd 6al with blaster coil and 2 step rev limiter. its worked great so far. no complaints.

i got a phat deal for you.

msd 6AL used w/ brand new blaster ss coil, brand new msd two step module, brand new msd module selector, stock cap with built in external coil socket, and external coil wire $200

all the new items are in their original packaging. not opened.

stock is plenty sufficient IMHO.

I have cars mid 400's- 500whp with all stock ignition, but plugs are of course, NGK.


My experience is that MSD units cause more problems than help anything.

that's what i'm running also, though i know quite a few people like using the Digi6+ due to the built in features.

I haven't done anything to the stock ignitions to make them work correctly, just new parts when required.

Most common problem MSD causes is massive power losses and electrical misfires when VTEC engages and all the way up. Removing of the system alleviates the problem.

hey vaportrail,, i was just wondering if you ever experienced any problems in vacuum with the msd, you know just drivin around partial throttle?? i mean i run the shitty fmu setup on my Drag'd GSR hatch,, and rc 310's,, and it hesitates when at partial throttle,,, everybody says its because of the fmu running it mad rich,,but im wondering if it could be my msd box?? i run a 6al with a blaster 3 coil,,,, i dont know if you have any ideas let me know
