Default Test JDM HID headlights

Hi all, sorry for another JDM HID headlights thread, for me forgot to bookmark the thread I read earlier and can't find it in search now. I remember reading a post sometime earlier about testing the JDM HID headlights without mounting them. How exactly should I do it? I just received my JDM HID headlights and would like to test the HID bulbs and ballest are working properly. Thanks in advance!

9v battery.

Negative on negative and you know what goes on the other end.

Thanks man
Sorry for another stupid question, where can I find 9V battery? Can I use the 12V car battery instead (I guess the answer is no)? Or can I put 6 1.5V AA battery in series to test it?

P.S.: I read about your thread before and feel sorry for you. Hope you can get a cheap working ballest very soon!

Just use the car battery, though I would prefer to use a fused source such as the factory low-beam connector.

BTW, how should I connect the wires? All the wires of my headlights connected in a plug. Am I suppose to cut the wire to test? And how exactly to connect to the low beam source? Sorry for all the questions, but I would like to test them asap since if they are broken, I can claim from courier insurance if it is due to shipping problem. Thanks a million!

u can just tap some wires in to ur factory connector, just find out which is neg and pos... then with those wires, tap them into the hid's... headlight-wise, the neg is on the top right, and the HID is the one in the middle... turn ur cars head lights and viola!

If you don't have the other half of the connector, you will need to cut the wiring at some point anyway to install the headlights. If you don't want to cut at this point, you'll need two wires to run from the connector to the low-beam socket. You should be able to force, bend, tape, hold or otherwise affix the wires in such a way as to get them to temporarily stay in place.

BTW - Here is a link to the connector pin-outs: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=484758
