i heard if you port match a stock Type R manifold it will flow as good as a Skunk2 intake manifold is this true.....
right now i got a GSR head with a skunk2 intake manifold i am trading it for a Type R head+ custom port and polish......my question is should i go out buying another skunk2 manifold .....is any other manifold recommended......
help will be appreciated.....
by this weekend i will have a built Type R head with skunk2 valve springs, Skunk stage 2 vtec cams, JDM Type R 4-1 Header wrapped.......
what kind of ACT clutch will u reommend for this set-up......
i heard 6puck is good but thats too much on the tranny and is a harsh drive......

I've heard the same thing. The ITR manifold is very good a port matching prolly wont hurt it and would move some extra air.
As far as the clutch. The 6 puck is overated. It's a harsh drive with very little leaway on it. So you cant feather it very well.
I'd recommend a ACT HDSS with a Very Light Flywheel.

GSR Head and ITR manifold are not interchangeable (without modification to the manifold), and vice versa. FYI.
Either the Skunk2 manifold for a Type-R or a stock Type-R manifold will work well with the Type-R head. I have not seen any evidence that one is better than the other, so whichever is easiest for you to obtain.

He's not asking that.
He's getting the P73 head (ITR) and it'll come with the manifold. He wants to know if the stock ITR manifold will perform just like the Skunk2 manifold on his GSR.

I might be wrong, but isnt the ITR head a PR3?

Yes. Just FYI, the B16 head is also stamped PR3. Type-R head has a light port clean-up and different goodies in the head though.
Stick with the ITR manifold. No need to waste time and money on the Skunk2, It is the same thing.
Head sounds pretty good, goodluck.
