Cobalt GT Sport Pads are awesome!
Got these just before the Expo from Andie.
I had gotten a set of Axxis Ultimates to replace my Hawk HP+ pads. Figured I would support the sponsors since I kept fussing for everyone else to. I was fairly pleased with the Ultimates after I put some miles on them but was talking to Andie one day and mentioned they didn't have the bite the Hawks did. As expected Andie knew exactly what i meant and had a solution. He suggested i get a set of Cobalt GT Sport pads. I recieved them just before the Expo and had not put them on before last Wednesday. I bedded them in and put some miles on them and before the Auto-X Sunday.
I run Street Mod at the local Auto-X's. These pads did extremely well. They have the bite (or a little better) of the Hawk HP+ but better control/modulation. I am extremely pleased and have found a new brake pad i can run with confidence.
Quick story, I also run timing and Scoring and they had a computer problem. I asked a lady that was there to pull my car forward (We grip in a line and keep pulling forward). I fixed the problem and got back. She looks at me and said, What in the world have you done to this car. I replied, "what do you mean". She said I stood this thing on it's nose. What have you done to those brakes! Handed out a few Cobalt cards I had in the car and went back to racing.
Thanks Andie!

Ditto what Trey said.
I was also running Cobalt GT-Sport pads at the Chattanooga region autoX yesterday. It provided sure stopping power and I'm extremely happy.
Definitely a great set of pads for autoX.

Glad you made it up Sean. Was good to see you and Stephen.
Cobalt ruled the ITR setups.

Do fun run times count?
Had fun in the N00ga!
Stephen - who lost to the Commander by ~1 second officially but only .2 unofficially.
And who needs better glasses to better understand which side of the cones you are to go around!

Yes, these pads are sweet. I dont' mind the screeching cause the performance is awesome. Have you tried their rotors? They are primo.Replaced all the pads and only the front rotors yet i want the rear end clamp down more like the front. Any suggestions? I'd like to run a more aggressive pad in back but Andie say that they'd lock up. But anyhow i agree, money well spent.

good to hear trey.. i bought a set from andie as well, just haven't gotten around to putting them on..
screeching? i understand they're going to make a bit more noise than OEM, but is screeching really all that accurate?

Thanks for the review on the Cobalt GT's. I'm running Axxis Metal Masters now and they work fine but I want to find an aggressive street pad that does NOT make nose.
I was planning on upgrading to Ultimates if they don't make noise. How do the Ultimates compare to the Cobalt GT's for street use?

Josh - GT-sport makes "noises" unless it's heated up good (just like any autoX/track pads would). Actually, I think it make a lot of noises when it's cold. Almost sounds like I drive a bent-up beater... oh wait, I do drive a crushed one.
However, this doesn't matter to me as I don't drive my car daily.
Also, IMO, the pads leaves quite a bit of brake dust. I now have gray 929 wheels which were silver two weeks ago. But, once again, all performance pads do, so I don't mind.
In my memory, Axxis Ultimates dusts less, but I can't make a direct comparison 'cuz I was using 'em on my previous car.
[e] - I think GT-sports are great pads for autoX. For track duties, I am switching to something else.. either Cobalt GT-Vspec (?) or Ferodo 3000 (?).

Mo moises noticed by myself or my wife in the short time they have been on the cra. Definitely a street worthy pad.
I doubt a group buy is needed since Andie supports ITRCA and Honda-TEch with continuous discounts. Just contact him and ask.

I'm using the Ferodo DS2500. Looks like it's comparable to the Cobalt GT sport

I wouldn't read too much into that graph. I had Porterfield R4S pads and they faded like crazy at my first track event. But looking at that graph, they don't look like they would be much worse than the GT Sports.
