I actually had that kinda prob. where the notch is broken. But I don't think that will give you any big problem.

Did u get it broke? or did you break it accidentaly?

regarding your 2nd question,
this is where I put my ballast

You can put it next to the engine mount. It is wedged in there pretty tight

If I remember correctly, there are two other notches so the bulb wouldn't really pop out accidentally. You're fine as far as I can tell.

Behind the bumper cover would be my suggestion.

If you take your front bumper off and look inside the driver's side fender, there's 2 holes down there where you can mount a custom made bracket. That's what I plan on doing.

Thd passenger HID ballast fits well under the ABS bracket, and as for the right one, it goes here on mine:

BTW - Is this second hand HID kit made to fit into a 9006 housing?

If it is, then you can't use these bulbs with Audi A6 Projectors.

Hey. I accidently broke that exact same peice. The problem you will encounter is the light will not turn on right away and during hard bumps the bulb light will cut off. Kinda annoying. NE ways what I did was i switched the busted bulb to my drivers side and there are enough things around that i twist tied the bulb on tightly. Since then no problems. Email me for some pics.

correct. You can, however, buy projectors with some D2S bulbs in a package or seperately and you'd be set.

And that's a trevor kit so those are D2S bulbs modified to fit 9006 housings.

What is the proper way to clean the bulbs? Alcohol, is there any special procedure?

Ok, I have just got the lights and now they are installed. I was going to ask you all with HIDs, how do you have the bulbs placed inside the projector?

Which way is the "electrode" facing? up/down? I have seen it on the
board before but I cant find it now.
