still need help on tachometer :(
ok i got every wire hooked up right, got a ground, power, and lightsource. i even connected it to the blue wire in this pic. but why wont it work? it said hold down the top button to set 4,6,or 8 cylinders, i do...and nothing happens? it says press clear and recall at the same time to set the shift..i do..nothing happens?!
anyway, like i said i got all my wires hooked up what could be the problem? faulty tach? you guys said to hook it up the the blue wire, i did..nothing. i even hooked it up to the black one...nothing..?

i had a lot of trouble installing my tach. my problem was a faulty ground and i swore up and down i had a good solid one.
this is what i did to eliminate all error:
0: cut the gas guzzling 6/8 cyl wires
1: double check for certain that you have a perfect ground
2: connect the red power wire straight to the battery. this way you know for certain you have power (you can wire it to a different source later, right now you are just checking to see if your tach is broken or not)
3: wire up the green tach signal wire to the blue distributer wire in your picture.
4: forget about the white wire for now
5: crank up your car and if it doesn't work send your tach back to autometer and they will give you a new one
6: as soon as i did these things, mine worked perfectly.

okay, heres wusup a quick ghetto runthru, but i'll bet my last $1.32 that if u follow my directions, it'll work!
should be wires comin outa the tach like this
green- t splice this to the blue wire on the dist. (altho by hooking to the black dist wire, you may have fried the tach)
red- stick this in the slot for the interior light fuse, then stick the fuse back in to hold it there
black- run this wire DIRECTLY to the negative terminal on the battery, no where else
white- pull out the dimmer switch on the dash and t splice this to one wire, try the one to the right of the car, worked on a crx and a eh.
