Default 1998 Turbo Type R #274 is dead

Sat nite I went up to Glendale to visit some friends a relatively nice neighborhood. I did the usual safety precautions as I do everywhere I go so no one can drive the car period. You would have to know me to know how to get this damn car started. However this did not matter and someone broke into my car and towed it away with another vehicle. There was no glass, no skid marks so they have to be experienced at this.

This morning there was a special on the news about car theft rising 36% and it was in this area and the Valley. I get a call from the police and they found the car with the shell, doors and hatch and some misc. wires. All is gone, motor, wheels, bumpers, turbo, interior etc. I will get a chance to see the car sometime this week and I'll most likely lose it. I am still in denial but it'll hit eventually, if you know me i'm pretty laid back.

The car was insured for a good amount so I'm just waiting to go through the paperwork.

Sad day indeed.

Very sorry to hear about the car.

The fun of owning this car is, now more than ever, being overshadowed by the increasing theft rate. Its truly becoming more of an inconvenience to own this car.

Yeah, I saw that news special too. The "Po-Po's" said, that the Hot cars being stolen is Civic and Camry for their parts, but more so for joy riding. According to them it's mostly high school people are stealing these cars.

Very inconvenient indeed. Took out the EMS all the time always watching. I feel very sad to think of all the hours I put into the car and all the good times. At the same time I feel relief that I don't have to go through the constant worry. I do wish I could have passed on the car to someone with the same enthusiasm I had.
