You could just pull the plug wires and injector plugs... If the oil pump is brand new and the motor had no oil (fresh build) do the above and:
Crank the motor over for 15-18 seconds at a time, at least 8 times.
This should supply enough oil to safely start the motor.
BTW, ensure you have a good charge on the battery, cold cranking causes the starter to pull large amounts of current, draining the battery quickly.

thanks all. i gueass my new oil pump is primed, but my oil light still wont go away. what else can i check. i also installed an oil pressure guage and it doesnt read anything. the oil level is also fine aswell as the oil pick-up. i hear clicking also, but it sounds like i need a valve adjustment. could this also be the sound of a rod knocking?

if you hear the noise coming from the valve cover area..it's coming from the valve train...if the source of the noise is coming from the bottom end..it could be a bearing. a good way to make sure your oil pump will prime before starting an engine is to pack the oil pump gears with vaseline.
