This will be long, but can you please help
90 b16 hatch, wired battery to back, my car is not getting fuel to the injectors, it is getting spark, I can here the fuel pump getting power so the main relay should not be defective? I changed the fuel filter, car still will not start?
Can the pump still be defective even if it is getting power?
it has been 2 weeks since it cut off on me and stopped running, I need my car back. I have tested so much crap that I am out of ideas.
please help
Justin

Mine did the same thing and I also tested everything i was also getting spark but still by distributor was bad I not saying this maybe the case with yours but take the cap off and look for some red dust my bearing was seized. Or even check the rotor button I've heard of the screw coming loose also. I didnt understand why I was gettin spark but my dizzy was still bad it wouldnt start.
what makes me think it is something to do with fuel is, I have cranked so much that my car should have flooded by now which would make it smell really strong. It has no smell like the fuel is not making it to the engine.
the symtoms began when I was taking a trip home about 100miles, it was driving like wind was blowing against me every once in a while it would fill like i let off the gas then gave it gas and so on. On the way back I was in a small race and the car shut down had to pull over, tried to start it and would not turn over. After about 5 minutes it started right up. 2nd time I was at a light idleing, I saw the radio dim gave it a small rev and it shut off. again 5 minutes later it started right up.
but the last time I gave it a desent 1-2gear pull and when I was coasting to the stop sign the battery light flicked on and car shut off. It has not started since.
I have ground running from chasis to block ground running from battery to spare tire mount which is grinded to bare metal so it is a good ground.
the car worked for 2 days fine then this happened. I am mad
gasp help!!!

I had this problem a while back too when i got the b16 put in. The problems i ran into were...
1) The rotor srew came out and the rotor fell off inside the distributor cap.
2) The car would turnover, but would not start. My main relay was bad, which happens with most crx's. Had to go to the dealer and buy a new one.
Hopefully this may give you some ideas. New cap and rotor for the b16 are going to be from a 90-91 integra ls.

did the car run from the begining and then it went bad? what where the symtoms?
my car has had the swap for 2 years now has run like a champ I would have so many more ideas of things that could be wrong if I only new symptoms to everything

Alternator. If the battery dies completely the car will shut down and the battery light would flicker, radio would go dim and car would stop. Change the alterntor or battery. Both are sympton to that problem. The dizzy would not make the battery light come on or the radio dim. Check your batt and alt...I can garuantee that that is the cause.

I tried running my car off of another one and it will not even turn over battery is getting 12.64 volts with a mutimeter. and even if the altenator is bad it should still atleast start for a second
Have you checked to see if there is fuel pressure? Take loose the 8mm on the top of the fuel filter and hook up a pressure gauge. Should have approximately 30 PSI at idle. If you have pressure then you have fuel to the fuel rail. No fuel = No start!!!!
Fuel Filter????
Turn the power on then off, next loosen the banjo bolt on top of the filter. If you have fuel there, you should be getting fuel. Next, pull one of the spark plugs, is it coated with fuel or is it dry as a bone?
It sure sounds like you have an electrical problem more than anything else. If is was only fuel, you would have starter and radio and other electical accessories.
Your positive wire from the battery should be hooked up in two places. One is on the starter. While you are looking at that, make sure that little wire is hooked in place (starter Signal)
THe other place is the power to the fuse housing on the passenger side strut tower.
All these connections should be clean and solid.
I moved my battery to the back and I hooked ground wires to the seat belt mounts on the passenger side, to the shock tower, to the mounting plates for the battery box. Pretty much to every solid place on the back of the car, routing the wires back to the negitive terminal on the battery.
I next hooked ground wires to every place I could find under the hood. I hooked them up to the header, to the intake manifold, to the head, valve cover, transmission. Pretty much everywhere I could.
Good luck.

I have the battery hooked up correctlyeverything woorked fine. Before I moved the battery to the back I roe 100 miles about 40 miles in to the trip my car started to hesitate like wind was blowing against me and or I was tapping the gas. this also kept happening on the trip back after I put the battery in the back after about 95 miles of the trip back I dropped it in 4th and took off to get ahead of traffic because i almost missed my exit. when I dropped it in fourth at about 100mph my car shut down I pulled over. the car would mot turn over starter worked fine but car would not come on, 5minutes later car started right up like nothing happend. this happend 1 more time after i gave the car alot of gas. then it happend a third but car has not worked since.
can the main relay slowly go bad, like hesitate a few days then just go out?

I changed the Main Relay and now my ecu is getting the 1 blink so I guess the main relay was part of the culprit. BUT, my car is still not wanting to start, I can here the fuel pump wine for 2 seconds. but car will still not run. 12.6 volts on the battery. distributer rotor looked fine(was still connected). I am not getting a code 16.
since I donot have a fuel pressure qauge I can't tell what kind of pressure is coming from the pump when trying to start. so what I did is undid the banjobolt from the fuel pump side of the filter, cranked it, and fuel came out fast, does that mean it is working or could still not be making enough psi to push the fuel?
please help going on 2 1/2 weeks with out transportation
thanks

THis is weird.
Do me a favor, check the exhaust when you are trying to start the car. I once had a Crown Vic that would bog down and not run worth a hoot after I hit a bump. Turns out the inside of the cat came loose and would block the exhaust.
Long shot I know.
I'll still thinking.
