I'd use Honda MTF or a good semi-synthetic oin...as for how much...I think it's 1.8 quarts.

yep it's around 3 quarts and I wouldn't recommend a synthetic blend. Either the Honda mtf or just regular 10w30 will also work fine, I would prefer castrol

Ok, I called the local Honda dealership and asked what I should put in my SI tranny....he said use "Brand x" semi-synthetic. He also said that is what they use in all their manual trannys. I also asked about Honda MTF. He explained that Honda MTF is a synthetic blend. I didn't ask about the B16, so it might be different, I don't know. So thumbs up for semi-synthetic

Ok what is the truth here on capacity:

D series Trans take 1.8 quarts
B Series Trans take (Some of you say 2 some of you say 3)?

If it's 3 I have to make a run over to dealership.

I dont know the real truth about it but if MTF is the same as 5w oil then it would be a lot cheaper. I know my dealership charges 7.35 a quart, but I get it for 3.00

go to your local honda dealer and get honda MTF. Honda makes it for a reason. Always use OEM parts and fluids for most applcations.

Honda Manual Transmission Fluid, around 1.9 drained to 2 US quarts rebuilt. Where do some of you get 3 quarts from?

I just put 2.1 quarts in to my S1 trans and no oil came out the fill hole, I'm guessing it must be closer to 3 quarts. I'm filling through the speedo hole but I have the fill bolt out to watch for when its full.
