F20B fit in a 92 ex
yeah, this is all for a friends car, i am just trying to get info for him. How easy does the h22 go in. And which version of the h22. I am a b and d series guy. Own a 89 crx, so i dont know much about the h, f, and k series engines.

Can anyone direct me to a site that gives alot of info on either the h22 or the f20 in a 92 accord ex. I want to get a good price on all the parts and how hard it is to do the swap. If this does happen, we will probably be converting from auto to manual at the same time.
It will fit right in just like an H22 since it basicly is an H22 destroked. You do have to do some wiring changes since the F20B is an OBD-2 engine but nothing is major. Should be a breeze.
You can look at http://www.h22a.org for info on swaping an H22A into a 4th Gen Accord and http://importnut.net/h22a_swap.htm They have info on converting the OBD-2 H22A (F20B) for use in an OBD-1 car. It's nothing big though just time consuming.
As for the needing the 2.2 liter to make any real power I really disagree. The F20B builds more stock power and rev higher, faster then the stock JDM H22A plus is has higher compression and is a stronger engine in general. It is a better stock engine to spray N2O on. Plus it's cheaper from many sources then the H22A8 (Type-S Prelude Engine).
What you need to do is identify you goals. To find the engine better suited for your needs.

Then again, Busted, I beg to differ. The F20B, although it's a happy revver, has way much less torque than an H22, and considering the weight of the Accord, be it 4th, 5th or 6th gen, you will constantly be playing with the stick to keep it up in the high revs, and, of course, to get the power you need. I assume it's not strictly for the track, so the more torque, the better driveability.
Yeah is does have 6 less lbs of torgue but when mated to it's transmission it's very driveable. That engine comes from a 6th Gen which I beleive is heavier then the 4th/5th Gen right?
But like I said he really has to research exactly what he wants to achieve and then pick the correct engine.
The regular ol JDM H22A is way cheaper so it's probably the better choice and if all they want is the blue valve cover you could always just buy that.

BustedLX, my friend, my buddy, my pal, you are very wrong.
It does not make more stock power than the JDM H22A.
Only reason its rated at a certain BHP, doesnt mean much. Look at the power band. It revs, and revs, and revs, and then in one magic moment, manages to reach 197bhp.
Torque makes a big difference.
Higher compression better to spray? Oh so wrong.
Thats H22A7, not A8.
In the long run, if you plan to build the engine into anything, that displacement will make a big difference.
The only reason I can see someone using an F20B is if they are in a racing series that allows a maximum displacement of 2.0 liters.
Once again, you are wrong.

He said it's better to spray since it's a stronger motor.

The Euro-R and Accord Type-R motors are the A7. The A8 is the Prelude Type-S motor, as he said.

Depends on how you build it. The F20B is a better revver, so it's ideal for any sort of racing, just use a lower FD and you'll make up the torque loss at the wheels in each gear, while still going the same top speed in each gear. And it will have more power while doing it.

Doesnt really sound like it to me.
A8? Hmmm, my chart was missing that one.
