Porsches feel the power of VTEC y0 ;)
Had my first AutoX of the season last weekend, ran with the Chesapeake Region Porsche Club, it was the final autocross they would be able to have at the very large Six Flags parking lot. I was eager to try out my new suspension (and get a little 10/10ths time before the expo), I ran on my pretty old and pretty bald on the outside edge V700s. Fortuantely, i've got some camber now, so i think they were actually using some of the fresher inside-edge rubber. We got 4 runs, i was the first run-group of the afternoon. Beatiful conditions, sunny as hell and about 70 degrees....
here's results, first off:

I went on my first run, and at the first left-hander of any speed whatsoever, the tail shot out like a wild man, fortunately i had lots of space to correct and make the next gate, but the 450/600 spring rates were doing their job beautifully...after a few more turns, the car was making plenty of sense to me and was sticking very well. I finished with a 56.4, which at the time was FTD (couldn't believe it with the crazy tail-out incident). Second run, smoothed it out alot to see what that would yeild, time dropped a bit more...third run, with FTD in hand and no one really that close, I was bombing it a bit harder than usual. A courseworker yelled "GO!" and it threw me off a bit because i didn't get what he had said, but i saw no arms waving so i kept going...and hit a cone. Then missed a slalom. Doh! I nailed the second half of the course, and FLEW through the last slalom, i was bummed i'd messed up the first part. Last run, overdrove a bit and in an attempt to recreate my great slalom, i overcooked into a cone. I was delighted with the coilovers, and very pleased with my performance overall. The last run group had the heavy hitters, so I watched 3 cars that definately had the potential to topple me...and indeed, a 911 SC driven by a much more experienced driver bumped me on one of his runs. Oh well!
The guys were very friendly, I got to see a new Cayenne (V8 Turbo but automatic) run which was amusing, and the Porsche guys were a good bunch to run with. The AutoX chair game me a hard time, of course...after my first FTD run, he came up and said "Your car is too loud, you can't run anymore"
After the event, he told me "Your just lucky a Porsche beat you, otherwise you would be banned from
future PCA events...
"
I look forward to running with this group again! A few pix:

well, it wasn't QUITE 70 degrees..
your car looked great out there.. and that first corner in your first run... your car looked AWESOME with the tail drifting like that. i also thought that camaro was pretty amusing, sliding all over the place. you prolly didn't really see him at all... anyway, cool day. let us know when you're running again. i was trying to talk your mom into doing it too. then i'd have another novice chick to run with.
she'd prolly still beat me.

Sounds like you had fun. The Porsche Club here (Milwaukee Region) is filled with a bunch of pansies that are afraid to really push their cars. I hope that's not the same situation in VA.
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

the ladies, they came for ME
As for my cool black plate, it's been replaced by a stupid VA plate....oh well.
Some of the drivers seemed to be a bit timid with the performance, there were definitely a few who were pushin it tho.

PCA guys are always the best to run with around my city.
they were so funny when I did actually get FTD in my CX with the CX motor!
I had suspension up the wazoo, thats what let me finish first.. but they were reading the fastest times and got to FTD...... and all I remember is
"and today, FTD goes to... to.... a white, wait, a white.... um, a white CX, a CX? is that a, no.... is FTD going to a Civic?"
bwuuwaaaaaaahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaa!
car looks purdy stable there Aleph!
