amp placement
(sorry in advance if this has been posted recently)
wheres a good place to put an amp? i didnt want to drill any holes in my sub box or my panel or anything, so i attached it to a long peice of wood and wedged the other end under my box. seems to work alright, but i was thinking about getting a fan since summer is comin up, and i was told its better to have the amp on the side and have the air blowing over it.
what amp placement do you guys have? (please attach pics if possible)

i meant that the wood was covered it carpet..with the amps mounted in it...all the wires are hidden behind the wood and under the amp...
"how did i mount the wood"...you can either drill it straight through the rear of the seat...which i didnt do...i used brackets shaped like an L...and mounted it on the upper part of the seat...not on the back part of the seat...the top part of the seats close onto...the metal part...

I always liked under the seats, not so easy to steal and they're kind of out of the way.
No so good heat-wise though, might need some fans.

my amp is actually behind the passenger seat, i have it screwed into a floor mat and i can chuck it under the seat in a second, the floor mat has those 'spikes' on the bottom so it stays steady, it fils the speace nicely and i always pull the seat forward and look at it, and touch it, and play with it
actually i have both my amps mounted in my trunk its a good spot for them if you can secure them to something thats not going to break easy....plus it helps when making adjustments to the system
