Help with MSD 2Step Module (See Pic)
Hey, i was a little curious as to the correct way to set the msd step module up, i have worked with the Digital 6 in the past , but not the module. Note. this module is the one that plugs into the MSD 6AL box. Now i was just a little curious since the directions says some crap about line locks, and a clutch switch, .. well im not using line locks or a clutch switch, so can anyone tell me how this works? would be most apreciated, BTW, i have an Etown event sunday, help.. lol
Very big thanks to infinite who called me up from california, and gave me a quick rundown of what to do, its all hooked up and ready to go.. Thanks man! u get a

just get a switch and run it to a power and ground. then run the red wire to the power side of the switch. as soon as the switch is turned on and power is applied to the wire you tapped into the switch from the box thewn the two step will be activated!
by the way. where are you placing your two step switch? i want to get some ideas for placement of mine.

He advised me to hook it up to the clutch pedal switch, and disregard (yes DISREGARD) the entire relay, the 2 step module is a 3 wire affair.. The main wire with the plug goes to the MSD Box, the black goes to ground, and the red goes to the clutch pedal switch, the OTHER clutch pedal switch runs to 12v. and the female part of the clutch switch is wired together with a jumper wire.. Now the rpm's hold at 6 when the clutch is down, then up to 9 when its released..Infinite, chime in anytime ..
i was under he impression that if you shifted at 9000rpm the two step would switch on. that does not sound too good to me because, if as soon as you push the clutch during a shift it would force your rpm below the two step setting.
am i correct?
am i correct?
exactly sixty i couldnt said it better my self just follow "sixtys" directions exactly and u wont have any probilems. its ****** tight huh sixty its so sweet and for those of u that r scared that in the transitinal period between shifts that it will die down to whatever u have it set at, it doesnt, cause its not enough time for it to come into play between shifts unless your a slow *** shifter, lol. if u guys have anymore question il be happy to help. c-ya
thats how TurboDANDEE been running his 2 step, on his clutch pedal. works real great and he's always consistent with his 60 ft.
The rpm wouldnt go up when u switch gears because you're not holding down the gas pedal, so the rpm wouldnt go up. when the 2 step is activated, the rpm doesnt shoot up to the rpm desired, it only stops when u press the gas and it reaches the rpm u picked.

is there any way to shift without lifting off the gas?
If you have your two step hooked to a clutch activated switch, when you shift you do not have to lift off the accelerator. Provided you are pressing the clutch in far enough to activate the two step rev limiter on shifts. I have a three step, one pill operates burn out rev control for consistant burn outs, andone pil is for top end rev control. The third is adjustable with dials instead of pills so I can adjust instantly at the start line without having to pill it. So if track is a little greasy or cold I can dial back my launch revs for better bite.

i wouldnt imagine so, but thats gay anyways.. also keep in mind, you can adjust the pedal switch on the pedal so it wont activate unless the clutch is down ALL the way, as opposed to just engaged a little with high speed shifting at times...
