i was wondering if anybody had any info on aem's connecting rods, i've seen them in a few quick cars but i couldn't find any info on them. i'm curious as to how they match up with eagles. any info would be appreciated!! thanks

never seen or heard of them. my guess if they are selling rods is that they are selling another companies product with their name on it. not sure which company but maybe someone else will know.

I think they were made by Cunningham.

its been a long time, but way back back back in the day many years ago, i remember them having rods in their catalog. that was like 94' or so. but they might have been crowers . .. maybe?

They were cunninghams. AEM used to sell them back in the day when JC still owned the place...

Art is right! Also they used to have AEM pistons and did overbored throttle bodies too and had headstuds etc etc.

they are not any of the above. they are saenz rods. i have a set. they are sold only by top performance in miami florida and equal or surpass crower in quality. they are about 650 for a set.

SpeedWorks is right.. I remember those Saenz rods. As for the quality i have heard quite different. I thought there were made in taiwan or china or someplace cheap.

they look almost identical to a crower rod but a little beefier in the wrist pin area. quality is not a problem.

Would you guys know the torque specs for the Saenz Con Rod bolts when used on the H22A1 mottor?

Are you completely sure that the torque specs for the H22A1 engine with the Saenz rod bolts(ARP) are 36 foot pounds? Here is the reply I got from SAENZ:

"Dear Mr Stephen,

Bolts installed in your rods are ARP L19 in 3/8" diameter, aren't they?.
If so, we recommend to torque them @ 55 ftlbs. As this value may vary
depending the torque wrench, bolt / rod thread surface and the installation
lubricant you use, best way to achieve exact clamping pressure is to measure
the stretch of the bolt after to torque it. Bolts have to be .005" to .007"
longer when torque is applied.
Best lubricant for bolt and thread is a mix of oil whit molybdenum base
grease.

I replied telling him that I found it a bit high, but he told me that's what I should torque them too. The factory rod bolts are torqued to 34 foot pounds.

i'm pretty sure. factory is 34 pounds. mine have been torqued at 36 for 2 years with no problems.

Looks like Manley Rods in that picture. and i think AEM pistons are Wiseco's, ill show a picture tomorrow of my Manley Rods..
