Default Alignment specs for sub 1.8 60's?

My best 60' to date is 1.9 seconds. I was wondering if there is a known optimum alignment setting for drag launches. Caster, camber, toe? The car is a 95 Civic EX coupe putting about 210 to the wheels at this point. M & H 22 X 8 X 13's on Bogart Drag-on fly-lites. Caster is set at + 0.9 degrees, camber is at 0.0 degrees, and toe-in is at +2.0mm. Any help would be appreciated; hopefully alignment specs are not closely guarded team secrets. Thanks, people. Cheers

10 psi. I have varied the pressure between 8 and 15 psi. So far 1.9 is the best I can get. I still get a lot of wheel spin. I am going to try launching at lower rpm. Normally launch at 4-5k rpm.

I replied in the same post that your thinging of so I dug it out of my recent topics....tony1 wrote...

You should run a little negative camber, maybe .5 deg. or so, so that when the front lifts the camber is straight. I would also recommend 1/8" of toe in to help keep the car straight. If it still doesn't hook or go staight then the problem lies elsewhere..."

Just the kind of info I was looking for. Thank you. I have the Z10's so I can dial in more positive caster, which I will do. I also have camber kits installed, so getting negative 0.5 degrees camber should be no problem. Thanks again.

Thats some damn good info.I was gonna have it set to 0 camber so the tires lay flat, but I didnt think about the front lifting up.So if i have a shop do the alignment what should i give him for specs? My friend does alignment but everything is degrees.

caster and camber are in degrees, but toe is measured in inches.

would the .5 deg of negative camber and the 1/8 inch toe in make street tires wear out uneven on a daly driven car?

i highly doubt it...its very miniscule....those old body integra's got way worse camber than .5....prolly like 10 times the amount of neg camber. and the tires hold up for a little while(not long enough though) the insides are showing cords before the outsides are even worn in(the inside edge nad outside edge of the tire)

i dont think the .5 of neg camber is anything to worry about....

what is probably the best psi to set my 14inch 555r nittos for best 1/4 mile runs. I'm currently pushing like 190 to 200 whp and about 130 t0 145 trq.

Wait, did you say you're launching at 5k rpm on slicks and will try launching lower?? I don't understand, you must bog out hard.

I've used 20" MH slicks on a N/A car (best 60' @ 5830ft was 1.8 w/ 176whp) and my 22" M/T slicks w/ my 16psi turbo GS-R engine which I could break off mid 1.7's up here at altitude. I would always launch right below the 8100rpm rev limiter, slight wheel spin, then catch. Good launch feeling though. This was in a daily driven car w/ open differential.

What clutch are you using?

I don't bog at 4-5k, but last time at the drags I tried launching at 3500 and I did bog. My 60' was 2.4 With street tires, my best 60' is 2.3 with tons of wheelspin through 1st. With slicks my 60's are consistently 1.9-2.0. Using a stock clutch at the moment, but there is a Tilton single disc setup in my car's very near future. I am going to put in the 4.75 F.D. at the same time. Hopefully I can get the 60's down in the 1.7-1.8 range.

1/8" toe in: Is that total toe or the toe for each wheel.
1/8=.125 Total toe on my alignment rack. That is .0625 for the left and .0625 for the right.
I think this one sounds the best!

1/8 for each wheel would be .125 for the left and .125 for the right making the total toe=1/4=.25

I marked my front shocks to determine the amount of lift I was getting on launch. I then set the camber to 0 after raising the car the same amount on the alignment pit.

1/8 inch should be the individual toe adjustment not total.
Also if you have a camber kit you may be able to dial in a little more caster with it.
I have the Ingalls upper arms on my Si and if you move them forward all the way you canactully get more positive caster without having to max out you Z-10s adn stress teh lower control arm bushings. just a little hint. Im setting my suspension up next week after my Skunk2 drag springsshow up. Things I need to set in order are: Ride height for good axle geometry, caster for good traction on launches, camber for good tire contact on launches and toe for straight runs.

Also, Tony is there anything special you do for the rear of your car? I assume just straight up 0s since the rear suspension is fabricated. Am I correct? The less drag the better?

Camber at .5 degree neg at rest (ZERO on rise!) and toe at 1/8" in total (ZERO on RISE!).........must make slicks "FLAT"

Just a simple stock SOHC on juice at 20x8x14's at 12 psi = 1.816 60 foot. I launched at 7800 rpm.

I thought the dash was gonna fall out!!!!!!

The warmup of the slicks.........

So FULLTHROTTLE says 1/8 inch should be individual toe...

...Mista Bone says total toe...

... ?

Mista bone: With your slick size, do you still have the stock axles in, or have you upgraded to racing axles? I'm thinking of getting this size slick, but not sure if my axles will last.

my guess is your not getting them hot enough. pull the ebrake spin them shift into 2nd and spin them untill you see smoke then line up fast while they are real hot. you should be able to launch near your rev limiter and not get much wheelspin. my camber on my car is way negative because i still need corection kits but i can still pull 1.8 60fts on weak *** 20in slicks and my car dpsent even have 200whp. hope this helps
