here are the things you will probably hear on this forum:
1- if you drive your car on the street, don't put a full cage in it. It's not safe.
2- we don't know jack squat about drag-legal cages. There is a dedicated forum for drag racing
2.5 - most people will not cage their car for autocross, they will usually just put a roll bar (4-pt)
3- if this is a real drag race car, you need to get a NHRA-approved cage, whose design greatly differs from a road-race cage.
4- if you put a cage in your car, you need to wear a helmet, use 5 or 6-point harnesses, and race seats.
5- the best cages are custom built by people who know their crap
6- cages are not meant to stiffen the chassis, but to protect your butt in the event of a crash. If you just want stiffness for autocross purposes, get yourself some upper/lower strut bars, stiffer springs and leave it at that.
7- don't know about Cusco, but I like Kirk's products.
hth.

that pretty much sums it up. Cusco is for bling bling purposes. the only real advatange to the cusco unit is the weight. Their roll bar weighs 18lbs, the kirk is probably around 45-50.
IMO, you don`t really need either.

what about english?
I think the point is get some strut bars/lower tie bars/sway bars to stiffen your chassis because roll cages are not really built for street purposes

Sometimes you guys are as bad as the ricers when it comes to posting info not based on facts.
Cusco 4pt is 10.5kg or ~23 lbs. It is 40mm chromaly (sorry on the spelling). Probably not legal for SCCA/NASA/NHRA/etc.

Oh yea. One more fact for any1 thinking it would be 3l33t to have a JDM roll cage. Japan is RHD, so all the triangulation will be on the right side. Not good for LHD cars.
yep, that looks like every Cusco cage I've seen.
I guess if someone picked your car up and dropped it on it's roof, then yes, it would be helpful. I just can't imagine it having any noticable effect on chassis stiffening.

I was 5lbs off..sorry! I have installed two btw. It was a pretty decent guess. I`ve only seen the C and E version in the US.

you seem to know ur **** should i get a cusco cage or not? or no cage at all
If you care about competition, find out what is legal for the series you want to run in and ask people running in that series what they use. Then make your choice.
SPiFF, who has a very hard time believing people can feel ``chassis flex'' on the street.
My roll bar helped my flex-o-matic tupperware chassis a little. However, if you are not going to do open track events then you are wasting your money, and its better spent elsewhere.

no i dont plan to compete in any offcial events.. but i do autox a lot and i want as much advantage as possible.. i've talked to a few people some thinks its binificial some say its not needed..i just dont want to waste money
For autocross any added benefit you get with any possible chassis stiffening will be more than offset by the extra weight.
So you'd be wasting your money.

My rollbar made a difference as well, but it has both a diagonal and a harness bar. Without these, I doubt it would have made a noticable difference.

Yup, i've got a harness bar, and two diagonals (one regular, the other from the upper left on the main hoop to the leg to the passenger rear fender well)
