prob. w/ brake pad install on teg
so my gf got a 95 ls and she heres this sound from the rear and i hear it and its the brakes. so i go to napa, get semi performance pads and install them. forllowed the haynes to the T, so i go to drive it to see if all is ok but wait, what the hell is this. it feels the brakes are already ingaged or the ebrkae is on, so i thought nayve they just have to break in. 2 trips round the block get home, take off the wheel cause it smells like the ebrake was on, the rotor is f hor as hell, my spit sizzles on it. the only thing i had trouble w/ was getting the piton to back out so i could fit the caliper back on. i would rotate it clockwise but the rubber sleeve would bunch and turn the piston back the other way, but i finally got it on. so whats the fing deal? help please i didnt have probs w/ my civic brakes? did i forget something?

I'm trying to remember from when I changed my rear pads last September....
I think if the rubber boot twists like that, it's just stuck, but I can't remember how to get it unstuck.... but yeah I think you need to back that piston in as far as it will go before putting the caliper back in place. Sorry I couldn't be more help, my repair manuals aren't near me at the moment.

Check that the caliper subassembly isn't siezed. I did a friend's Accord a few months ago and one of the plungers were stuck (boot was torn). This caused the caliper to mis-align with the new pads, and rub a little. Maybe check that.

What do you mean by spinning the piston into the caliper?? I know that you have to compress the piston back in is this something special for Integras or am I just out dated?
in order to bottom out the piston in the caliper you need to turn it - it screws in, as this is how the parking brake works. You can pick up a little tool (its a cube) that you use with a regular socket wrench to bottom out the caliper.
