I bought this built bottom about a week ago i got it in the mail mon. and stripped it down. When i pulled the oil pan off I found some cool little toys to play with in the bottom....those being both of my thrust washers and two little bolts. I also checked out the main bearings and they were pretty wore out ....enough where I could see copper. Now the previous owner did not run balancer shaft belts so im guessing thats why the bearings are like that. Anyone get a price range on how much these will cost?
well.... i'd also check for miliage, what was the compression test before hand, also if the trust washers are worn maybe some hard shifting and abusing shifting ? also lack of proper oil ?... many things can do that... over torqued caps.. EVEN RUINNING a pretsone leek will wash down the bearings doing just that you said!!
know the facts before acusing the balance shafts...

wooe wooe wooe slow down cheeze ****....i wasnt saying that it WAS the reason for them I was just giving my opinion on what i might have thought it was. When I checked the main bearing caps on both sides of number three where the thrust washers are installed..on both sides (includeing the crank) there were deep gashes. Does this mean they are trashed?
o yeah engine life was a little over 1,000 when he pulled it
