Ok well assembled the bottom end last night first went the crank mains all bearings to go w/ them all oil clearances checked very well. Then checked gap on rings they all were w/ in ..012 clearance checked beutifully. I then assembled rings on pistons lubed rod bolts and installed into bores lubed all bearings and torqued to specs. Put in new front seal and rear main seal. Next bolted up windage tray and oil pick up tube. Also put on misc stuff like oil pump water pump ect to the block, lubed my head studs and put them in the block. started around 5 and finished around 9 last night. It looks so nice put together tonight ill be assembling head and hopefully have time to clay check everything Id like to have it running by the weekend. I will keep everyone updated on what goes on.

i did no flow bench on head porting all i really did was clean the castings off the ports Knife edged the dividers and took out some obstructions like some radius' that needed to be smoothed out kept general shape of port. Basicallly same as stock w/ bigger port and smoother finish

ok well tonight finally got the time to put the head on and assemble the rest of the motor. Well i began w/ putting a used headgasket on got all the clay in there perspective spots just like on C-speed's site. All clearances checked out perfect. SO far so good. Then i unbolted everthing and put it all back together man it sucked cause it took so long but at least i know im safe.
Just have left to bolt intake manifold header and bolt tranny on and ill be putting it in the car some time this week so I will keep you posted. So far so good no snags cant wait till its broken in.

Got my digi cam working now need some help posting pics or will someone post them for me if i send them to you.

ok been a couple weeks since i updated i will have pics up shortly of the bottom end and head being assembled but the car is up and running!!!!!!. Its been close to 5 days now no leaks everything has been perfect i now have about 300 miles on it and not one complaint. I never realized the touque i could get out of this motor.

Well first night got car up and running smoked like a bitch for about 30 min or so even after we drove it. Well i assumed it was just the rings seating. Sure enough after about 50 miles of driving no more smoke. After the 50 miles went and pulled plugs i just didnt think it was running the way it should. Sure enough they were white as a ghost. This was only shifting to about 3 grand now getting on it at all. After a long day getting the motor all installed we said we will check it tom.

Next day we get a B/m command flo regulator on there set base pressure to about 43psi and that woke the car up tremendously. We also put the vafc on there as well. Also checked oil and stuff still looks new and is holding it all not one drop lost.

Now i have occasionally done about 75% throttle to about 4500 on a few occasions and from about 2k up it feels like it wants to spin tires. It almost feels like boost in a way i know it sounds wierd but its got that liniar accleration. Lucky for me the bfg drag radials wont allow any tire spin.

Going to go ahead get the motor all situated and all broken in hopefully in a couple weeks i need to go ahead and buy a fuel pump and possibly a chipped ecu and head to the dyno i might need to buy some 310's as well. I cant wait to hit vtec, but i will have pics up shortly just wanted to keep you updated. MORE UPDATES TO COME>

Ok well just emailed hybridvteceg some pics to post up ill have to dig up a few more i have but the car runs great this is how its been so far no leaks doesnt burn oil ive got right at 1000 miles on it.

Ok let me say BFG's worked great last night Ill post my setup and my times tell me what you think and where i can improve.
LSvtec 81.5 12.5:1 endyn roller waves
skunk valve train and stg2 cams
skunk manifold
stock b16 tbody
JDM itr 4-1 header
2.5 exhaust
Fuel pressure at 43psi
vtec coming in at 6k bogs if i go lower
about 18psi in the tires
shifting at like 8500 to avoid not falling out of vtec
This was the best run of the night all the rest were in 14.0 territoryran a couple 99mph as well

60' 2.070
330' 5.83
1/8 8.98
mph 78.6
1000 11.6
1/4 13.96
mph 98.44

Im not sure what to think about this setup. I have stock Dx fuelpump w/ 165k on it and stock b16 injectors. Do you think once i get more fuel to the motor my time will drop alot more. I dont know what the car weighs yet its a 91 dx hatch no backseat spare tire has 2 racing seats and carbon hood. Is this about normal nothing has been tuned and plugs looked pretty close to white on the runs i did run some 114 in it just to help a little. Forgot to advance timing so it was set aroung 14-16degs ill double check it tonight though. please give me some feedback i have a 255 pump it will be here this week. Injecetors and flywheel are next.

Alright last night was a questionable night it began to sprinkle rain for about an hour after we got to the track. Well lucky for us it stopped around 9pm. They dried the track and began running cars well half the people left when it started raining so there wasnt that many people there. I finally installed 310's and a pump w/ my lsvtec and set base pressure to 50psi cause the plugs were looking kinda white under 43 psi. I finally line up the car bust a 2.0 60ft but it was still cold and cut me out of vtec ended up running a 14.3 so i ran it a couple more time best i ended up getting was a 13.8 @100 all motor. So i checked plugs upped fuel psi to about 55 this time still kinda leaner than what i want This time i let my buddy drive first pass he ran a 13.6 @101 w/ a 2.1 60ft so we adjusted tire pressure and took it out again this. Run ended up w/ a 13.6 @102 w/ a 2.0 60ft. We let the car cool for a few and makes another pass got a great launch on the drag radials best so far
R/T .059
60ft 2.02
330 5.75
1/8 8.79
mph 81
1000 11.39
1/4 13.59
mph 102.2

I think there is definetly more in the car cant wait to get all the fuel situated and need a few mor things to do to the car and hope to get into the 12's.Oh this a full weight 91 hatch dx only thing removed was backseats. We run the car on bfg drags at about 18psi.

Just want to give some props to my boy Rob that has helped me get this far couldnt have done any of this w/out his help. Damn he can drive. heheh

On that pass my buddy bogged out out of the whole here is what the second pass looked like

2.2 60ft
5.8 330
8.8 1/8
81.79 mph
11.39 1000
13.59 1/4
102.3 mph

so w/ this he spun pretty bad i believe on both runs w/ good hookup the car would have made a 13.3 at 103 just speculation but it would have probably been there. Now the car is still on the lean side i havent messed w/ the vafc nore cam timing. Ill just have to wait for dyno for that but im sure the car will run high 12's the way it sits on radials. Dont forget i have not removed anything but backseat in this car. Ill have to get it wieghed soon but ill keep it on the road another year before gutting it and maybe getting some slicks and fiberglass body parts ill try to get more pics soon .

My car will be on the back burner most of this year as we are planning on working on my buddies crx race car. This should be fun I will get more parts and take to the track on occasion till his car is completed then we will begin on mine.

TO BE CONTINUED ....

Well first i would defently check compression correctly making sure your motor is built correctly makes a huge difference along w/ driver make sure motor is in good running order. GET SOME TIRES ALSO i cant stress this enough good tires help so much. On another note this is what happend last night thought id update everyone

Well last night we went to gville to try the car out on slicks and open exhaust. We get up there early take everything off put some race gas in and begin to run. Now our last pass on DR's was a 13.5 at 102 best so im thinking at least 13.2 w/ a decent hookup at least and id be happy. So we lower pressure in the slicks first two passes SUCKED 13.4 on both of them so we adjust pressure still not much better 13.3 so i know the car will do a 13.1 by this point so we adjust pressure to about 8psi in the slicks and now were doing 13.0 consisntently at like 103 these were all mid 1.8 60fts. So then we go back to the pits advance timing a couple more degrees and try it again. Launching at 7k was to much and blistered the tires to a 13.1 so we are on the finaly run of the night trying to be conservative w/ the launch at 62-6300 rpm the car hooks like never before shoots off the line and this is what we ended up w/
.169 R/t
1.807 60ft
5.27 330
8.22 1/8
83.1 mph
10.78 1000
12.95 1/4
103.97 Mph
Im happy overall i think w/ a couple of runs more we could have maybe got a 12.8 out of it but i didnt see the need to beat the car to death. Everything on a fairly good note for the night till just after the run where the alternator belt broke OUCH!!
So my buddy drives my car w/ no lights we follow him by his side all the way back to ocala and we get there in pretty good time.

has that thing even been to a dyno yet to get proper tuning, because if not their is still alot to gain. let me know what ignitiopn timing and cam timing you are running and also your fuel pressure. Did you say you were running prelude injectors? I dont remember.
