Default So I found out my timing is advanced to 22 degrees.

While I was getting the tranny installed I asked my mechanic to look at the timing because it was already advanced when I bought the car, he took a timing gun to it and was at 22 degrees.

He said I should be fine as long as I run 93 octane and I always have the knock sensor.. but my question is..

How much top end am I losing?

I would back that up a bit to at least 18 degrees...Factory specs recommend 16 degrees give or take 2 degrees. Probably not gaining any HP after 18 degrees.

My meachanic (who's an ex-honda main delaer mechanic) recommended 18degrees advanced (maximum) for the B18C engine.......so thats what i run at!
