Unless I'm not seeing it correctly, you always want to slip tubing into the next piece downstream therefore you won't have a sharp edge. It looks like the piece welded to the flange was slide over the B pipe, but it's still better than the bottleneck.

how effective is that? for example, no bottle neck stock bpipe mated to stock muffler as opposed to the same dia. aftermarket no bottle neck bpipe with stock muffler?

no i mean why did honda do this. this, as in the change in the b-pipe diameter. what would be the reason for this?
