Default B20 crank pulley issue in CRX with HCP mounts

My car has been making a grinding noise when I am in hard right turns and I have not been able to figure out the problem, and it became worse when I lowered the car. Well, tonight when I was messing with my timing belt, I found my problem. The outer edge of the middle section on the crank pulley is hitting my tie rod (I believe that is what its called) and slowly grinding it away. So how can I fix this...cheaply? I believe that the 90 ls pulleys are about 3/4 inch smaller in diameter (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=240208) so would that be my solution? Are there other pulleys that would work too? Here are some pics...

The CRV pulley is bigger than other B pulleys, which is why people use them with the JRSC's to get a little more boost out of it. If you aren't running A/C or PS which I doubt you are, you could use the JDM CTR pulley which is only a one belt pulley. You could also have your stock one grinded down to copy the CTR pulley design as well. The use of a LS/GSR/Si pulley might give you the added clearance you need though, so really the only way to know is to try.

There are a couple of huge threads about that little ctr pulley. However, there are differing opinions. Some people say just to have the oem one shaved down. Outkast, who are you ordering it from...R and D? Also, how much. Looks like it will need to balanced before installation though.

Correct. When putting in any B18B (94+ Integra LS motor), any B20B/Z or B18C motor, you want to use the 90-91 Integra pulley or the 89-91 B16 pulley, and the corresponding (90-91 Integra) alternator belt with it. Those pullies are slightly smaller and give you more clearance. Then it won't ever touch the radius arm on the driver side.

I would have thought that it is an issue with all 4g Civics and 2g crx's, but I have not heard about it before.

EDIT: FYI...
JDM Spec Performance has them for $115+shipping. (1/2 way down the pg)
R and D Motorsports has them for $105+shipping. P/N 13811-PCT-000 (1/2 way down the pg)

Just ordered mine from JDM Spec for $100 shipped. Should have it by Friday. R and D does not carry them any more.

not 100% sure but I believe the CTR N1 crank pulley requires balancing....

According to the JDM Spec guy, they come fully balanced. I will still have it checked though.

With the HASport mounts, the motor sits higher than with the HCP mounts, which is why some people complain about their motor rubbing on their hood and that there is no way to fit a B18C in there w/out it rubbing. With the HCP mount kit, if you use the 90-91 Integra pulley, that's all that you'll need to do and the pulley bolt will line up with the hole on your driver side fender splash guard so you can still turn your crank and line everything up to TDC w/out having to remove the splash guard.

FYI, all US EF's are the same, meaning the chassis is the same for the CRX and 88-91 Civics when putting in a B-series motor and with engine bay clearances.

we are using the hasport mounts with a b20vtec and havnet had any prolbme w/the radius rods and crank pully. we had to use 2 washers under each bolt on teh motor mounts to move the engine down slightly b/c it was hittin the hood slightly.

UPDATE!

Well I got the pulley on friday just like the guy said. It was $100 shipped. It weighs considerably less, about 1/3 the b20 pulley weight. It tooks me 7 trys to get the correct belt. The one I ended up with was a 29.5" belt and it had to be PDQ'd cause Advance did not stock that size. The car runs like a scolded (sp) dog now, and I can probably manage to get into the 9's too. Comparison pix below...

I have the HASport mountkit, I am able to use the crv crank pulley and it doesnt rub. The problem I do have, is my stupid engine rubs on my stupid hood.

I guess there are advantages and disadvantages for both kits.

Good looking pics of the CTR pully. I have been running one for about a year now. There are very nice pieces. Nothing beats OEM. Heres mine.

No, I sure didnt. I was in too much of a hurry to get it back on the road.
I cant see why Honda would not balance them from the factory.
I did spin it around my finger and it seemed fine.

That's the best way to accurately check the balance.....
