Exhaust System Toss up?
I am about to get a exhaust for my 94 GSR ... I have heard stories about people who constantly are switching exhaust system's and I don't wanna go through that, so I thought I would ask some people with a lil' more experience. I am looking for a exhaust that is close to the frame and has a clean look with a deep tone (not ricey but deep) and right now I am considering the DC sports original, Comptech, and Tanbe Hyper Medallion. Anyone have any comments about these exhaust's good or bad? Which has best construction, which would you choose if you were goin for the clean look?
of those three, id go with comptech. Ive heard it but I was standing outside. it has a very deep tone, and from what I could tell it is quieter than most aftermarket exhaust.
The N1 is a nice exhaust but I am looking for an exhaust where the muffler is a little smaller and not a canister style... Thanx tho

On my teg I've had custom exhaust with universal muffler and a Greddy Evo.I switched to my Tanabe Hyper and I love it.The muffler has great ground clearence, pretty quiet but nice and deep in Vtec, and has a real nice shine to it.I'm very happy with this one.
I know you don't gain much power from an exhaust, but, does the comptech produce any more power than THM or the DC Sports? Why would I pay an extra 100 bucks? Durabliliy? Or just the name?
whats the difference between the usdm itr and jdm itr exhaust...i want an itr exhaust for my ls...but which do i run with...what would be the best pipe diameter for just basic bolt on mods...i/h/e...thanks
I've got a Comptech.
Has a nice deep tone and isn't buzzy at all. When I first got it, I thought it was too loud, but not compared to a lot others out there. You can always get a silencer if needed. Actually, I kind of wish it was louder now.

DC sports
No offense to the N1 people but they are loud as ****, the styling is nice and stuff but I get the bumble-bee/weedwacker vibes when I hear them. :x

I had the old style DC on my gsr for a few years. It sounded great, not too loud, and i liked the look of it too. The perforated pipe that runs through the inside of the muffler broke so I had an ES' muffler welded in place of it. The ES' sounds ok but I'm pissed at the way the muffler shop installed it. I'm going to try re-welding it on and if that doesn't work out I'm buying an N1 cat back.
Getting a USDM type R put on my GSR friday (yes I know it needs to be modified). 2.25inch is all I need power wise and heck get to keep a stock look
I bolted the ITR exhaust up to my GF's 98 GSR. It didn't need and mods to fit. But then I also put the dp and cat from the ITR too so doing that let the ITR exhaust bolt right up very nicely. Throttle repsonce was better and you could here Vtec a little more. I was impressed.
