Where to put Sub in CRX?
Hey, i was just curious if any of you "Go" guys have a sub(s) in your crx, even though it adds weight, clutter, etc. I wanted to put one of my 12" subs in the back, with a 600 watt amp i have. NOt really sure how i could secure it though, because i only have that sorta plastic piece that goes over the spare tire well, and i dont wanna make it permanent. So just curious if anybody figured something out to secure a single 12"box in the back, and what they think of it? i just put all new speakers in the car, the original size of 6.5", but miss the bump of my old car, but dont need anything serious. And i figure i could just unhook it and take it out if i go to race or anything... So if you have any input or even PICS of your setup, that would be great... Thanks for any responses.
Velcro. You can get the stuff with the adhesive on one side everywhere. Put a strip on each corner, and do whatever with the rest and you should be good.

Thats my main concern
NOt looking to kill anybody, just want a lil bump. Anybody have pics of their setup, and how they prevented it from becoming a lethal weapon?

THe sick, quick, and easy, is to do the velcro.. but remember, if its easy for you to get out... its REALLY easy for a thief to get them out.
You could always do a quick enclosure in your spare tire well and just make it removable. Really would not be that hard... just time consuming.

if you just want a little midbass you can do like i did and make a fiberglass box that fits inside the spare tire. iim running one JL 6 1/2 and with a good amp that little thing can rock. no too much bass but great mdrange.
hit um crexer, he has got a custom crx box for 2 15s that im sure he would get rid of fairly cheap, it was done really really nicely too
If you want lightwieght portability forget the 12" sub
There is already a great product out there that fits this need....
you may have heard of it... BAZOOKA.
Dont flame it...it fits your desired needs
1 - not a lot of weight
2 - great sound ( the thump element)
3 - can be removed easily
4- does not take up space

i have the stong industrial strength velco to hold my box with 2 10" woofers, with only a few little 2"X3" pieces, it does the job, and believe me, i take corners hard, and stop hard, and it has never moved that big box, and its not hard to detach.
only thing is, i might switch to a single 10" sub only, instead of the 2 10's, cause its a little bit of a pain to get to my spare tire out, if i have a smaller box, it would be easier to take it out

Any pics of your setup?? ARe you holding the amp in place with velcro also? Is the spare tire area still accesable without being a great pain?
sorry, don't have any pics online
i have my amp mounted on a board that is screwed along the backside of my cargo cover (the diagonal piece)
my box is kind of heavy, cause its made of some kind of fiberglass, and it has 2 10" woofers, so its hard to get to the spare, but i would recommend having one single sub box with either one 10" or 12" woofer only, cause i have had a box with one 12" woofer before and it was pretty easy to take out, and was'nt as heavy.
actually i had one 12" in a box, but my car was broken into, and the insurance replaced it instead with a bigger box with 2 10's and it was heavier, but i am going to sell it and just put one 10" in a singular sub box, i will just build it.
i just got the velcro at walmart, by the material/fabric/clothe section and i cut into 4 different pieces and put it on each corner of the underside of the box
