JDM Final Drive discussion (GSR 5th gear vs stock 5th gear)
For those of you who are thinking of getting the JDM FD but are worried about the highway revs and gas mileage i am here to confirm that it isn't that bad. I have had both the GSR 5th gear and now the Type R 5th gear in my USDM tranny with the JDM FD. The revs are about 300 rpms higher which really isn't a big deal. If you have the $ to shell out $450 for the FD itself then gas mileage shouldn't be a big deal because it won't be affected too awful much from what i have seen thus far. I like the acceleration in 5th gear. Instead of downshifting it to 4th if i wanna pass i can easily plant it in 5th and get around someone

"D" will probably say i am a dumbass for even doing the GSR in the first place

Bah, JDM FD is not enough, be a man and get the Cusco 5.029 FD
Now, that will give you acceleration in 5th

it is bad enough with my untuned wimpy 170whp with ats fd and azenis
yeah i dont know how you are going to have traction for 1-2 gears with 200+whp
