Default 5th gear slips into neutral

I was driving to work this morning and i was in 5th when all of a sudden my 5th gear slipped into neutral. i was like whats going on and thought my car just died. but i put it back into 5th gear and it drives fine but then 10-15 minutes later, it slipped into neutral.

so i would like to know why my 5th gear is slipping into neutral? i think my syncro is worn out. 2 weeks ago, i realized my 5th gear was harder to get into and doesnt go in sometimes, i have to push it in harder. sometimes its easy to get into 5th gear, sometimes it doesnt.

what could be the problem? im getting a new transmission with my income tax in a week anyways so if anyone has a 94-01 jdm gsr transmission, hit me up. ill have $600 in hand by next week. i know i posted up a wtb: gsr transmission and never hit anyone back up and now im desperate so give me a week to get my money.

HELP!!!!

will a usdm gsr transmission fit a jdm gsr motor? kind of a dumb questions so yea.

You probably have a bad spot on your synchro. And when u hit it it grinds or wont go in. I would check the shift linkage just for anything stupid that could make that happen but more than likely its the sychro. Im pretty sure that the usdm trans will fit on the jdm motor.

try doing a tranny flush using GM synchromish. that stuff will make your tranny fell like new. just throw your car into first gear several times before driving.

More than likely its your shift fork(s) being bent. Not allowing the transmission to fully engage into 5th.
