Default F20C in an Integra

i posted this in the hybrid forum but theyre pretty slow over there

anyway i was wondering if it was "reasonably" possible to drop a full motor, tranny, ecu, axles etc...swap into a 94+ Integra and make it RWD? how much of the Integra's chassis do you think would need to be modified?

Does the S2K have a front or rear mounted transmission?

s2k is rear wheel drive, integra is front, there is your major problem

it would cost BIG BUCKS to do something like that.

if it were reasonable as in under $10K i would very strongly consider it, i figure i will probably spend close to that to fully do my turbo project so why not have a rwd (much faster 1/4) stock motor car

and i know the drivetrain differences between the 2 and which was why i proposed the ? of how hard it would be to make the Integra RWD

Its possible. Your first problem is mounting the engine in the engine bay, which could be done by any competant welder. Second problem is knocking a hole under your firewall for the transmission. Third problem is where to mount the transaxle and differential, and how to get it past the gas tank. U could hack up your gas tank, and finding a mounting point for the transaxle and differential shouldnt be too hard. Fourth problem, you need custom axles (could be made, but will rpobably cost $$$). Fifth, and most major, problem, how to get the the axle into the hub! Your stock rear hubs dont have splines for an axle. And the rear/front hubs are totally different so u cant just bolt on the front hub to the rear. The only good solution to this, is to fabricate a new entire rear suspention (hub, knuckle, contron arms), and make it so the frotn hub will bolt on to it.

Now lets assume you did all of that, you would have to make the axle insert int othe hub at an angle, because u can pass the axle over the lower control arms mounting point like in the front. I wouldnt want my axles entering at an angle like that

i would guess the easiest way is to tube chassis the car, otherwise ur gonna have MASSIVE clearance problems with every single component relating to the drivetrain

maybe you could custom fit a 924/944/968 rear end with the rear mounted transmission and axles
