88 CRX "Passive Rear Steering" ???
Does anyone know anything about the 88 CRX's having some sort of rear steering system? I heard this from a friend that has an 88 and i just wanted to know if anyone had any info....ThanX
Was it just the control arms needed to convert to passive rear sterring? Only reason I ask is that there are several 88 crx si's at a local yard and I was thinking about trying this setup out on my hf. It will eventualy be a auto-x/track car. TIA for any help!

I drove with it, nothing amazing...its twitchy.
Passive rear steering has bushings and so on with a little give, the wheel dynamically adjusts camber and toe based on steering effort to give a more responsive feel.
I've hear numerous people say that passive rear is not recommended on a track car since it gives an unpredictable feeling.

hrmmmm intersing I hear both that it helps more on a track car and sucks on the street vs it just sucks period all the time no matter the situation. I just want to try it out for the hell of it more than anything. That is if I can get the old rusted bolts out of the arms at the junkyard which does not look all the promising 3 crasftmen sockets in.
Any other thoughts? .02 or otherwise? Thanks!

I think all models in 88 had them, I had an 88 hf with it

im a little confused. is passive rear steering good or bad? i have an 88 hatch, and i have tein HA's, the suspension has the EYE type rear struts...which is passive suspension. its the same as the type R's. doesnt mean it must be good because its on the type R's, but i thought that had some significance.
'88 LCA and ITR LCA are pretty close the the same thing. All it does it make the rear end come a little more twitchy. Honda swithed it in '89 becuase of complaints of ppl saying it felt like the didnt have control. Its really not that big of deal and I can sorta tell a difference, but not by much.
i helps you lose control of the *** end more easily and kinda drift it, its alright, adn all the 88 models have it and if u want one could swap out 88 lca in there 89-91 because the 89-91lca looked as if they would fit my 88 when i did my rear disc swap
