Earl's, Goodridge, JG/Edelbrock S.S. brake lines
I've had good results with the Earls on several race and street cars and not one issue. The Earls does not have a tab to mount the brake line to the shock like OE and Goodridge (I think) but I just use a zip tie. I heard several complaints early on with the Goodridge leaking or blowing ends off but that was early on and I haven't heard that in quite awhile. No experience with the JG/E parts.

What about Russell? Summit has them for I think $89.95
They have them on BACKORDER for 89.95. I ordered a set over 16 months ago. Still not in.
If summit is having problems with backorder, you might try: Truckperformance.com
I've had nothing but good experience with truckperformance.com for both the Tacoma and Integra (engine Management system).

I don't call Summit, I go there. I live 1 mile from there on the same road. Actually, my buddy is in charge of their import division. Just last week he told me he could get the Russell lines in 4-5 days. I don't know if he knows more than the idiots at the counter or if he was mistaken, but that is what he said. BTW, starting tomorrow, Summit is having a grand opening sale and my understanding is that everything is 10% off.
Personally, i would not get SS lined brake lines even if they are DOT approved. Unless i replace them once every year i would not run the risk of blowing or tearing the lines due to unnoticable tears on the lines. With OEM lines, u can see if the lines are damaged but with SS braided lines covering the line, u cant tell if there is going to be any potential problems. The teflon lining is very sesitive to any abrasion and if u run off course and collect a lot of dust or small debris, u run the risk of having them get in through the SS braids.

Thats exactly what i learned in school.
anyway, ive had very good experience with Earls (on 2 of my bikes, sorry not car). no leakage, no problems whatsoever.
Very interesting. I guess you are saying that DOT just hands out approvals like free condoms then. + Your comment about not running the risk of blowing or tearing a line...... Are you going rock crawling with your car? & even if so, I would rather go crawling with some stainless braided lines vs. OE rubber ones. If a line gets damaged, guaranteed a stainless braided one will be more resilient than a rubber line. i seriously doubt that the teflon lining is as sensitive as you claim. Where in any of Russell, Goodridge, Earl's does it say that you will have to replace lines once a year? Seriously guy, think of the liability.......Show me the money! wtf are you talking about??
just slightly skepticle.

Interesting - I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile taking the time before installing the SS lines to run heat activated shrink wrap along the length of the line to offer some protection from grit penetrating the braids and wearing away the lines. Has anyone tried this?

Anyway, i read this problem on a few sites and this is one of them: http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Performance/brakelines.htm
I just stumbled upon the NEUSPEED lines.
They say the steel braid is coated (sealed).
Might be worth a look
