hmm...underdrive pulleys They are the circular devices that are on your accessories IE -- AC PS alt

there is also the main one that comes from the engine and spins all of the others but it is NOT reccomended that you replace that one because of balancing or something...someone else explain the phenomenom

Right. About the problems you might encounter with a crank pulley, check out this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=319189

As for the accessory pulleys, they are generally machines from billet aluminum. They are supposed to be at least twice as light as the OEM pulleys. They will also underdrive, meaning that because of their larger diameter (as much as 30% i think), the accessories pulleys will not rotate as quickly, so their is less drag on the engine.

AEM accessory pulleys, for example, claim to have 5.5hp, and 8lbft gains on an F22B1. While I cannot tell you it is the power gain of the year, it does help the engine do happier revs.

The slower rotating pulleys won't cause you to have less voltage on your electrical system, nor will the PS be affected either. Personally, if you have a totally stock car, and you don't want to do any modifications with any downside (comfort, noise, fuel economy, reliability), this is one of the rare mods to be done, and I believe it will be the one that will yield you the most "power".

Hope it helps,
Jeff
