how to: install a 99-00 si spoiler on a 5th gen coupe
sorry no pics as of yet but trust me this one works and looks great.
1. get an si spoiler from a friend, junkyard, or steal one off of your local ricer in the parking lot...just kidding dont steal **** it aint cool.
2. when you get it flip it over and you will see the foam insulation covering the original mounting hardware.
3. neatly trim off this foam as you will reuse it later. once you have the foam off remove the 4 bolts holding on the mounting plate. now put the foam back on the spoiler but allow a hole for the inner most bolt hole. you can now throw out the original mounting plate cause it wont work on this install
4. go to your local hardware store and find the 1" long version of the original 4 bolts you just took out of the mounting plate. once you find them. pick up two of them and proceed to the checkout and buy them. yes you only need 2. 1 for each side cause thats all that will fit but trust me it will be secure enough.
5. now that youre back home go to you trunk and measure out where you want to place your wing. you are only going to be using the inner most mounting hole on the wing because the others are too far out to where they arent on the trunk.
6.drill 2 holes in the driverside and one in the passenger side.
7. the one hole in the driverside allows the breaklight wire to pass through. place the screw you just bought up through the other one. and screw it into the spoiler you are holding in your other hand, yes it helps to have a friend to do this.
8. put the other screw up through the passenger side and into the spoiler. now tighten both screws down until they are secure. you can also and a small amount of trim adhesive to the underside of the wing but this is not nessecary. i have had my wing installed for prolly about 2 years now w/o the adhesive and only 2 screws with no problem.
9. clean up your car and go brag to your gf that you just made something fit.
10. the end
ill post pics up as soon as i get my damn camera working again

People put EK lips on EG's all the time. I have an EG with an EK front end conversion and I put the stock EG lip on the EK bumper and it looked pretty good til I lost it rally racing.
Wing spoiler is what the topic is about...not the front bumper lip. I don't think you can fit an SI wing on an EG coupe. The SI wing is much longer that what an EG coupe rear trunk has space for.
body lines from eg to ek dont match at all but willing to see it and make my opinion after that.

I took mine off and sold that thing. only thing I liked about it was the led brake light.

Nice and low-key . . . and didn't completely block rear visibility like the giant beast on my Si that requires upgrading the trunk springs during installation . . .
sorry to insult your setup dude... i dont like it b/c of the angle of the slope on it from the back view, not b/c of its height. ive seen 4 door spoilers on the ej1 that look much better imho.
still waiting for pics of that Si spoiler though...bump

its cool go ahead and post your opinions but as soon as i can get my beast dug out of the snow ill get some pics posted up on here. oh and how do you keep the pics from being so large when you post them. i dont want to post any thing huge.
Once I see pictures, i'm doing this myself cause I asked about this a long time ago and people said it couldn't be done. Pics pics pics...
We all strive to be creative and make things fit. Making it fit, and looking proper are 2 different aspects of creativity. I tried to fit an SI wing a while back on my coupe to no avail.
Show us the pics, and make us all believers.

i dont care what kind of taillights you have, you are my main-man for the day. that spoiler looks really good imho, and you can flame me all you want for saying that. the tilt lines up perfectly with the shape of the rear quaterpanel. i will definately be doing this
thanks for the how-to.
btw... how far into the trunk is the mounting hole, do you know what i mean, like how much space is left to the end of the trunk, i am concerned that if there is onlu like a few mm then the trunks sheetmetal will rip.
