One question for you- The plugs I'm using are NGK BKR7E-11. What do you think of those?

Honda never produced a b16a1. The b16 in Japan was stamped as b16a and that is it. The first b16 in North America came in the del sol(b16a3). The last b16 came in the 99-2000 Civic Si(b16a2)

well mine says b16a1xxxx so what is it? a usdm or JDM? i hear usdm and then a couple guys here say JDM... so what the hell?

 

im willing to bet my lunch money that you have a usdm b16....

oh and as far as gaskets and what not go ahead and use the 97 del sol vtec... the 94 del sol ones are for sohc models...(referring to the above link that i posted)

okay to help clear up a few things, you have a 1st gen XSI b16, made in 1989.

 

xsi means?

 

That's the type of car it came from (integra: model XSi) ... Just like our GS LS GS-R, they have their own codes...

 

umm so it's not Usdm?

 

That's right it's a first gen b16. Think of it this way. There was never a 1st gen b16 in US. So, everytime you hear 1st gen, think JDM. The numbers underneath "B16A" is the block number, like a serial number. I think the block numbers on the first gen's all start with 1xxx, and the 2nd gen's are 5xxx.

 

above was that 160 HP 1st gen B16A.. here's a 2nd Gen SiR II, 170 HP (hydro tranny) B16A.. i belive 92-95?

 

actually they made the sir II on a 92 jdm rsi with a cable tranny...
i have one and steve @ HMO got a shipment of about 15 of these motors
