I would have believed that from the start, but I have heard that you cannot really put dyno #'s with those style of intakes, because they don't really do as much justice as they do on the race track with some type of ram air setup.

Nice info. Just wondering though....I assume that these runs were done with the same car, correct? Also how many runs did you do with each intake?

I read in the new Sport Compact Car that the new AEM v2 on a D16 has seen gains of up to 16 horsepower and like 10-12 lbs of torque, and this wasn't a advertisement! I doubt this is true, but if it is, that's remarkable...

nice but u really need more compression to take advantage of ur high dollar devices.
i have about the same HP/TQ and spent half of what u did.

Whew.....I'm glad that I bought the icebox!

Good numbers, and thanks for finally giving all of us a dyno plot to see some real results.

Thanks again,
JP

I always herd that the advantage to the J's intake was not HP numbers, but throttle response?

I thought the same, but I think people thought this because the Js intake is louder.

damn those flow bench gurus... they make us want thier manly
voodoo airbox... GRRR

hey jack... question for you?

im looking at your setup and wondering if those are
corrected numbers... if you are running 2.5" exhaust and all of what you have
in the car... and making only 175/125 to the wheels seems kinda low, no disrespect. what throttle body size, injector size and fuel pump are you running
it seems like to me you have a bottleneck somewhere... is this a dyno at 0,0 cams/16 timing and basic AFR from the computer or is it completely tuned...?

are you running stock GSR compression... because if so... OY! shave that head y0!

The Hytech exhaust is 2.5 in as far as I know. The car has its stock compression and I have a type R throttle body. I'm also using my stock injectors but I have my fuel pressure set at 50 psi.

Yes this is completely tuned. If you think these number are low, consider this a type r with i/h/e typically puts out 172ish to the wheels.

My car was only 143 to the wheels stock. Thats 32 more hp. I dont think its that bad for a GSR.

dude there are just way too many variables when it comes choosing an intake. x's intake isnt better than y's intake all the time. so therefore use your stock rubber tubing with stockbox. go get yourself some dry ice and put it in some ziplock bags then at the end of the day just throw it away.
