Window Net mounting....
Could you guys help me out with this?
We are trying to figure out the best way to mount a window net in my car, the top mounting bar would be mounted to main hoop and the a-pillar leg, but I'm having troulbe figuring out what to mount the front lower bar to. The nascar bars are fairly low, so that the bottom of the net is noticably higher than the nascar bar, so if i wanted to run a tab from the nascar bar it would have to protrude fairly high up. How did you guys do it? Any pix?

Maybe its the angle but I would have thought from your pic that our upper bars are roughly the same height.

(the front tab is hard to see but its against the front pad where they split)

this might be one of those, "I like mine cause ... its mine" but I don't like the idea of those metal bars and hinges being on the inside of the cage. How mine was done was by fashioning the forwardmost bracket to the top of the bar not the inside - just my view point of-course but seems a lot less likely to become a wrist/forearm breaker.
I've done a lot of CRX cages and several variations of the lower net bar. Some I liked, others I didn't. You guys have shown some nice examples. If you don't want the forward vertical bar to the rod, I've done it with nylon/cloth seat belt webbing and it gives a bit more "give" without being weaker.

Should have done a picture with the door closed. At the point the front mount is attached, the whole bar is inside the door cavity. If the mount were on top of the bar, the net would catch on the door. Anyway, wait 'till you see how buried in padding it'll all be when I'm through with it.
Look at sackdz last picture. That's sorta what I'm thinking about (using less beefy hardware) for both ends. No bracket though. Just tie the cables to the door bar. It'll fall completely out of your way when not in use.
I brought this thread back instead of starting a new one. Who's got a GCR handy? What's the wording on the attachment hardware being all metal? Would a heavy gauge insulated speaker-type wire pass tech? I was at Home Depot and couldn't find the cable stuff I was looking for.
I really like the way Adam got the latch out of the way with that extended top bar.
John, I heard some simular rumblings about metal fasteners. But Scroth has a new new out that uses webbing to attach to the bars...

Don't have the GCR handy, but I believe all it says is metal hardware must be used (zip ties unacceptable). I don't recall much in the way of elaboration.
