get a cheap polisher off walmart... get mequiars clean..
do a coat of that
then use carnauba polish
then put 2 coats carnauba wax.
it gave a lot of life to my old 90 HB gold paint... and still looks good... try that

i took an electric buffer and alot fo wax to mine and it only shines it up a little bit. i have had alot of luck with mothers cleanre wax and a rag before my new red 88 hatch. i havent really gotten around to doing that to it yet since my hatch is on jackstands getting a new motor. but i plan on using the cleaner wax from mothers then a few coats of carnuba wax from mothers, first coats with the buffer again.

Depends on how bad it really is, I had a car with horrible faded paint. I used a rubbing compound on it, then after that was cleaned off and I made sure I had it all an event amount of shine I used Nu Finish to polish/wax it.

I love this stuff: http://www.nufinish.com/products.html

use a clay compound and rub it in nice and evenly untill you get your shine....then wax it once or twice

I disagree with electric buffers. I have never used one personally, but they always seem to leave swirls. I recoment Meguires cleaner wax. Stuff is amazing.

If it's extremely oxidized, I would recomend using a cutting agent along with a professional grade buffer. Meguire's cleaner/wax can be used to cut through everything, followed by a polish by hand, and a Carnuba wax to seal it.
